I think he turned down Liverpool previously, which was when TB made him Deputy chairman.

Yes, and I believe he has turned down Manchester United in the more recent past.

He's done the England National Team/FA and he's been at his boyhood club (Spurs) as well so that's all ticked off. Think the only place we'd lose him to is the Premier League CEO job, but even then he'd have to give up his interests in the Albion which may not be beneficial for him.

As @JetsetJimbo said, his daughter does work in football but he was very clear that he stays out of her way and she's forging her own career. Can't see that having any bearing on any decision for his own future.

I wondered what Everton fans thought of this 😆View attachment 195760
Ah shit, scrap what I said about it not having. PBOBE has seen this post on the Grand Old Team and the poster's bizarro hatred of us has convinced him that he's spent the last 13 years waiting for a chance to go to a real club like Everton.

Doesn't his daughter work in LFC's media/PR department? Or am I mis-remembering something?

Still can't see it happening, but for the people asking "why would he want to move to Liverpool?", there's one possible answer. Though it might make for some awkward family dinners if one of them is at Everton and the other is at Liverpool.
Yes you’re correct. He occasionally comments / ‘likes’ her stuff on LinkedIn

I don't think this chap understands what 'perennial' means. Scrap that, turns out I don't.

As it stands, having never been relegated from the Premier League, we are as much a mainstay as Everton

He basically said that the new contract will likely see him through to retirement (he'll be 63 when it runs out) at a supporter's club meeting last year. As you say, great for all parties involved if that is what happens.

Fairly common knowledge that he's well settled in Hove as well. Taking the Everton role would be utterly bizarre when you compare it to the other jobs he's turned down.
Hasn't he now reconsidered this, as he will have to go until he's 67 to get the OAP concession at The Amex.

One of their fans also reckons it's only Ferguson's form over the last two seasons that have kept us relevant, showing their level of understanding of this football club.

Given that next season will almost certainly be our 9th in the PL - then by the end of it we'd have overtaken Charlton, Wimbledon, Sheff Weds to be in the top half of clubs who've played the most games in the PL. - 342 games, and 25th in the table behind Norwich. Luton are 51st with one season of 38 games only.

It always makes me laugh when people say there's 'no chance' of something – often based on nothing more than a hunch.

Is it likely that Barbs will go to Everton? No.

Is there a chance he will? Yes, of course there is!

Daily Mail ?

I'll ask the cat. More likely ITK.

He might be tempted by Tottenham. But it looks like he's here till retirement.
