Definitely a long commute from East London.

Yeah i'd find this one unlikely. He's openly talked about retirement, so clearly has a set plan. I doubt uprooting to Liverpool is part of that. & plenty going on at this club to keep him busy over the next few years.

Will probably enjoy a Potter-style 'easy life' coasting to retirement at the Albion. Don't begrudge him it one little bit. Unlike Potter, PBOBE has been a class act and has earnt it

Doesn't his daughter work in LFC's media/PR department? Or am I mis-remembering something?

Still can't see it happening, but for the people asking "why would he want to move to Liverpool?", there's one possible answer. Though it might make for some awkward family dinners if one of them is at Everton and the other is at Liverpool.

He basically said that the new contract will likely see him through to retirement (he'll be 63 when it runs out) at a supporter's club meeting last year. As you say, great for all parties involved if that is what happens.

Fairly common knowledge that he's well settled in Hove as well. Taking the Everton role would be utterly bizarre when you compare it to the other jobs he's turned down.

I think he turned down Liverpool previously, which was when TB made him Deputy chairman.

I wondered what Everton fans thought of this 😆
