This article with Trossard’s agent explaining why he joined us over Arsenal in 2019 is the source of that.

Mentions he didn’t feel ready for Arsenal but if he had a big season for Brighton then the big clubs would come in for him next Summer. Only took him 3.5 seasons and a strop to eventually get that move to a big club so he definitely wasn’t ready if they thought it would only take a year.

Well he’ll be 64 so maybe with the amount of money he’s earnt he’ll be able to enjoy a nice retirement by then or certainly a less pressurised job that doesn’t involve writing so many emails?
