Most effective creators of chances in the Premier League across past two seasons.

1. Kevin De Bruyne
2. Jack Grealish
3. Pascal Gross

The difference is both of those score a lot more goals than Gross. Even more so if you take away penalties, which all links back to our 'we need more than just strikers to score goals'

Grealish played in a free role with a team built around him, De Bruyne is picked in his best position. Neither is shoved at wing back as everyone else is injured and expected to do loads of defensive work

Superb Groß Turn today.

As usual I spotted it way in advance and was already "oooooooooooooh" ing before the inevitable followed by loud cheer.

There was a passage of play down their left in the first half where he and Webster (who had a fantastic game today BTW) were under real pressure but somehow won the ball (twice) before PG did a Groß turn and pinged the ball to Lallana 50 yards away barely without looking……….it was magic.

I'm getting more concerned about the lack of a new contract. Time is ticking down.

He's out of contract in the summer, will he be sold in January so we get a fee or will he sign a pre-contract in January with an overseas club ?

News of a new contract would be most welcome of course ( as would new deals for Mac Allister and Trossard ).

Maybe the staff feel he's lost a yard of pace and they want to get him back up to speed before offering a new contract?

The lack of contract really bothers me. If he is hoping to go to back to Germany for family reasons at the end of the season then I wouldn't mind a statement telling us now. That way we can savour the time we have left with him.

He's one of my all time favourite Albion players so much so that his lack of pace is almost charming. I know fans generally like him but I still feel he's underappreciated. Never heard a song for him. I sing a ditty in my head at games but he deserves better than that.

I still hope for a new contract because I think we will really miss him when he's gone.

Think he would get a new contract if he wants one but maybe he wants to see what his opportunities are. If he can play for a Bundesliga team playing in the Champions League he might want that challenge.

Do you honestly think he would get in the Bayern, Dortmund, Leipzig or Leverkusen sides? Can’t see it myself.

I’d have no issue if he did move on at the end of the season. Been a great servant and he deserves a move he wants but I also think we can do better now.

Think he’s been poor lately too and I really hope someone else is on the set pieces today.

His cross for Trossard in todays game is a timely remonder that he's an extremely valuable squad player for us.

We don't have anyone close to his ability to place a ball . . . Especially now SIlky Dave has gone,

We are evolving however . . .but still need someone who can cross/take killer corners and free kicks

As a starter no chance but due to the difference in economical muscles between any Premier League club and any non-Bayern Bundesliga club, clubs usually operate with small squads and if they can find proven high quality players in no real need of adapting, learning the language etc., I could see most of the top German teams being interested in bringing him in as a backup.
