i lived in east london for 5 years and there is a lot of trouble around the green lanes area between the turkish "community" and the kurdish "community", my question is why the f*** have we got a turkish or kurdish "community" in the first place ?they arent part of the commonwealth and the ones in north london are fromthe mainland, not northern cyprus.

Lots of Brits in Spain I believe, in spite of Drake's success in seeing off the Armada in 1588 and preventing England becoming a Spanish colony. I guess we are just basically a fairly nomadic or migratory species.

I had a similar experience in Kensington Gardens a month or so ago (en route to see the legend that is John Fogerty). A couple of teenagers (one white, one black) rode their bikes towards me on one of the cycle free paths. I observed that perhaps they might care to read the sign and only cycle on permitted cycle paths. A brief exchange followed and I have to admit to being totally stumped when the black guy said (I kid you not) 'This isn't a place for white folks'. Kensington Gardens - not for white folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why our society is getting worse. Too many of you are pussies all too willing to walk away and let selfish idiots get away with what is blatantly wrong. If we all stand up to them when these situations arise then there would be less trouble in the streets.

Feeling that your responsibilities to your family outweigh your responsibilities to right the wrongs of society as a whole, does not make you a 'pussy'.

Not to my mind, anyway. Why take any unecessary risk?

i really , really dont take that as a valid argument, if other countries like spain have a problem with the british and the MONEY that they bring into their economies fair enough expel them, its their prerogative , its what happens HERE that concerns me , and the turkish and kurdish "communities" bring no visible benefit to this country and have no valid reason whatsoever for being here .

I wasn't being arsy, just interested, is there a lot of trouble from the local Turkish community or was it just kids playing the big I am? I just got back from a holiday in Turkey and was impressed with the family ethos and the warmth of the people.

Sorry. Quite often the more PC ones on here pick up on things like that!

I am not ignoring Bushy later comment, but in terms of grown ups, I think the Turkish and Kurdish comunity have bedded in well. We have many friends, use the businesses etc

Though, there is definately turkish gang lords, many (some) of their snooker halls and Football bars are definately a front. Especially around White Hart Lane area.

The area round Green Lanes definately has some level of trouble, especially amongst the youth, Dandy man lives around there and can recount tales.

Personally this is the first time, I have been fronted by Turkish Yoofs. Who also normally speak English, the fact they acted black, also was a bit of a surprise.

In most cases if their Dads had seen them, they would have got a sever bollocking, disrespect doesn't go down too well.

Whilst being a veggie, the moment there is some sun in the sky, or its Sunday, or there is something to commenerate (typo) they are out barbecuing.

Which means in the summer, you can smell the grills, every day.

By the way, Bushy, the original Turks are here for political asylum purposes due to their Cypriate Civil war, a colony we once owned. Political refugees from Turkey when the 60-70's - early 80 administration started rounding up gays and reds. Attacks on Kurds in Turkey. Attacks on Kurds in Russia, Iraq and Iran brought over political and economic refugees. The lefty Kurds and Turks seem to get on rather well, supporting each other protest movements and even a hunger strike which took place on Kingsland Road.

I wish they do more veggie food. These kids were just ****s

You surprise me. Perhaps you should have been clearer in your original post and then I wouldn't have made such an obvious mistake. I will be more cautious in my comment on your more recent post. What criteria are you using to determine any benefit, visible or otherwise, that the Turkish or Kurdish communities might make? Net financial contribution? Cultural (including food and I will confess an interest here as I love Turkish cooking) contribution?

whyHERE , why always f***ing HERE, and not a country closer to them ? and ill bet you a pound to a f***ing penny that you cant produce one person who has lived in your area all his life and whos roots are there who thinks the turks and kurds have "bedded in rather well "

financial , and no matter what figures you quote me , i dont believe they outweigh the cost in social disruption caused by them being here . we could go on forever to be honest, we arent going to agree.

Without going off my original post, I would say that a community that assimilates, have children going to Harvest festivals, Christmas events, feits, open up all type of retail and other businesses, even opening up and running pubs. Is bedding in pretty well.

And they do a mean "breakfast paste" that is full of chilli and cumin, that certainly beds me.

Did you ever get round to buying a new bike?
If so where you on it then?
If you were, you should have 'fookin levelled the tw@t', if not, chalk it up and jog on.

I was kicking myself yesterday, I noticed a kid sat on a bench drinking a colourful can of cream soda.
When walking back I noticed the lad had left the can on the bench.
The problem being there was a bin on the other side of the same bench.
After the fun and games we've had on NSC over the last couple days, (ruined country, no respect, blah blah blah) I'd have definately broken the habit of a life time and told him off.

That said, I'm off out now, so look out on the news for Rustington's 1st stab victim, cos that'll be me.

CAN'T GET MY HEAD AROUND WHETHER TO KEEP THE CANONDALE, which rolls nicely apart from the back hub is knackered at the mo, which means my legs are even more knackered

Move to a racer for speed and ease

or a bike I can put the kids on etc

or

since the yoof hit my mavic wheels and i checked - no damage - i was a bit more relaxed, otherwise I think I might have been a bit more :censored:

with incidents like this, you always wonder, whether I could have been more aggressive, or got the yoof to "respect".

I have to say Ms LC was not a happy bunny when I told her.

to be honest i would have left it, had they been carrying a knife/gun/had friends round the corner etc things could have ended up diffrently. It could well be down to this that some youth have no respect anymore as there is no one to put them in line, teachers cant/people on streets wont say things as they used to

This sort of thing would not have happened in France.

France yes but more civilised places like Sweden Denmark. I and Ms Lc were stunned how civil the Swedes were even in Stockholm, eerily so.

Compensated by - being spoken to by some sunny stunners.

FOLLLOWING ON FROM OTHER POSTS:

I had one of those moments last night...............

cycling (crusing) through my local park, which was absolutely packed, three youths on their bikes made no effort to stop, with one going into my side. a bit of a standoff took place, which I think at least surprised them, I could tell one of them didn't really want to get involved. And the mouthy one, would have been completely different if on his own. I generally tried to calm things down a bit whilst getting some points across, but I would concede, lost out on the one way abuse coming my way. Interestingly they were Turkish lads, but there inmmediately "lad macho" response was too talk like a West Indian wide boy?

They cycled away in the end, I was always mindful it could go up a stage? And I am doubtful how many people would have got involved if it had turned nastier?

Being sensible here, what do you do?

Come up to Green Lanes and meet a few of my friends in the Greek Cypriot social club...

Tis true.

In fairness, no one has been shot round here for a while now. Tends to be bad for business.
