Maybe, yes. But that is a slippery slope to get on. Ban people for outright abuse/racism etc but I'm not so sure about bannings for anything else.
Anyone who has been on the BBS knows this is utterly laughable. Any away fan only has to so much as sneeze in the wrong direction and they get shunted into the "away end" - a fairly dull willy-waving forum. The idea that you Palace fans couldn't dream of banning a weirdo like this mate of Freedmans is pure chuckles.

I actually thought it was a little silly to continue to reply after the first post put him down so wonderfully but thats just me.
I'm like some of the weed fans here...its obvious he was trolling for a reaction and should have been banned ages ago.

I'm sure he's a passionate fan of the club and that's commendable - both sets of teams have a chairman that care about their respective club.

However, Parish has made himself look like a right bellend there. There's better and more mature ways to deal with that, rather than have a slanging match and threatening people on an internet forum. Poor form.

Article has been submitted to The Sun by a fellow writer of mine. So I read on another forum at least where this story is also doing the rounds.

Any of our visiting Palace chums could I ask what "complete nonsense masquerading as fact" this Steve chap is supposed to have claimed that has so riled your delightfully coiffured chairman? Is it just the Zaha sale or is there, as I presume, rather more to it than that? Otherwise he will have a fair few journalists to turn his attention to as well. What's the full SP?

LLCS has been insinuating Parish & Co are liars regularly on various threads since the Dougie departure debarcle. Generally snide comments promising evidence on them being malignant and yet a complete refusal to ever show evidence of this. I guess Parish just snapped in the end. I don't think the first post was the least bit embarrassing and I personally feel he was within his rights to do so. The continuation is due to BBS mods not acting and banning the twerp.

So he is a twat on a messageboard read by a few hundred people... and Steve Parish, the multi-millionaire Chairman of CPFC, decides to 'take him on'. Wow, what a BIG man he is.

So this LLCoolSteve has been on BBS for 10 years and amassed 45,000 odd posts and because he disagrees with Pinocchio he should be banned and threatened with Legal Action by a Muti Millionaire, Professional Football Club Chairman, successful business man whilst being belittled by him and all the other Parish/Fat wine seller lickers?

I hope they carry on, makes for great reading.

Surely that would be up to us to decide if we were embarrassed by it or not :)

If Parish felt obliged to respond I don't know why he didn't simply address these apparent mistruths? Perhaps you (Palace) need a media manager type.

Anyone had any joy with the national press yet? Think this needs hilighting....

Its on The Mail website now.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has come under fire after using a supporters internet chat forum to threaten a fan with legal action.

Parish became embroiled in a bitter war of words with a Palace fan posting as 'LLCOOLSTEVE' after being accused of lying about the clubs intentions with regard to the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding £55m-rated Palace starlet Wilfried Zaha.

Posting as 'CPFC2010', the name of the consortium which rescued the club from administration, Parish last night wrote the ominous warning: "Call me a liar on here once more, insinuate you know something that I know you don't or just isn't true and you better start saving your pocket money for a LAWYER, right ?".

Other fans were quickly simpering with delight at the Palace chairman's public display of strength, posting numerous messages of support, but not everyone was impressed. Crystal Palace Supporters Club chairman Rikki Runnacles said of the spat: "It's not the sort of thing you want the chairman getting involved with to be honest. We have a number of very challenged supporters who are still allowed unsupervised access to computers. When they're not browsing squirrel porn or masturbating furiously to this seasons latest penalties montage on YouTube, inevitably some of them find their way onto these fans forums which gives them a public platform on which they often excrete their confused drivel".

"Most of the time its harmless cack" he went on, "but one particular spud has really got under the skin of our Disney Prince chairman, who unfortunately decided the best way to deal with it would be to publically bully and humiliate him in front of a braying bunch of sycophantic arsehats".

The explosive row has seemingly been diffused after Palace co-owner Steve Browett later posted that he had resolved the matter with the crazed fan in a telephone conversation last night. But the saga has done little to dispel Palace's "joke club" image amongst football fans in general, with their comedy Worzel Gummidge manager, slum ground, slag cheerleaders, vile kit and dwindling support.

Has Parish registered on here yet? This could get even funnier.
