Unbelievably stupid of the French to choose to do the Triathlon using the Seine when they must have known the risks.

Unforgivably incompetent.

Surely there must be a suitable body of water not too far from Paris that could have been used. They seem more obsessed with marketing central Paris than competitor safety.

They've been rolling out the pathetic excuses. Apparently it's important to have it in the Seine for the surroundings etc. It seems to be lost on them that not having it at all is something of a detriment to that plan.

Biathlon might be even more pointless. Same with heptathlon and pentathlon... competing in who can be the most bang average.
