And the same probably applies to how Brighton fans feel about Palace's accounts.

Entertaining, very. Although I'm sure Companies House will soon find the missing accounts somewhere in the building :lolol:

I shall agree to disagree with you on your second and third points. Still think it is a bit weird having this much interest in accounts being submitted, mind you I also think it is weird having an unhealthy fascination with attendance stats, maybe it is me that is odd? And you call us Nigels.

Could it be we are all waiting expectantly if not hopefully for the next going into administration chapter?

Personally, can't be bothered about looking at your site (Do you?) But I do wonder if we have as many Albion fans registered on your home site. Bit sad if we do.

We post when replying to stripey Quentins talking bollox about Palace.

I'd be worried if i was you ... Auditor resigns and still no accounts not looking rosy is it maybe the cooking has burnt a little and some back tracking is required

6 months grace to get your accounts in would make late filing sound ominous

I have no reason to worry about our accounts. We haven't been throwing money at strikers to fill a gap left by a striker we lost for nothing or throwing money at a Spanish has been to sit on the treatment table (or in a villa on the costas). As you know we haven't thrown money at our ground so I am not expecting huge losses. Without any received transfer funds I would expect a small operating loss as seems the norm with football clubs but we do have some millions from Zaha although not sure if they are recognised as yet.

I do believe we have responsible owners who will live within their means and as such am not worried. You all seem to think Goldberg and Jordan are in charge again - I don't see what you are basing your suspicions on? Or is it just that you don't like Parish's hair?

Dobbie who was highest earner on our books, phillips a player we couldn't afford, then Murray outside the wage structure. Think this tells us something??

I understand Palace are paying 100% of his wages whilst on loan from us until the end of the season. The transfer deal has been agreed and we'll recoup everything paid out for Dobbie (transfer fee , wages and bonuses) with the undisclosed fee. Kevin Philips is out of contract at Blackpool at the end of June and will be looking for a deal elsewhere on much reduced wages due to his age. This may explain why Murray will be on £20k a week next season as others will be on below average wages for this division.

Very much this. Overall our transfer dealings under Gus have not been completely perfect but have been pretty shrewd. Even for Murray, we had a salary cap at that time and refused to bust it. Gus is not known for sentiment - Dobbie got moved on sharpish and he let Elliott Bennett go too because it was a goodish deal. We have walked away from several potential deals because we refuse to pay silly money. He has brought in some decent talent like Lopez, Bruno, Orlandi and Kuzschak plus loanees like Bridge and Upson. Ulloa looks like he will be a real gem. Contrast that with the type of player we were signing 3 seasons ago.

Tony Bloom is bank rolling the Club's infrastructure rather than spray most of this cash around on transfers in a desperate attempt to get to the Prem. The proportion of money spent on players is a fraction compared to the outlay on the stadium, training ground and offsetting the Withdean era. He sees this as a long term investment and is turning this nominal debt into shares.

It is interesting to see how the two Clubs approach the matter of balancing their books. When Freedman left I recall Parish telling the media that his priority is to put CPFC on a sound financial footing and couldn't promise DF a big transfer budget and wouldn't deny that Zaha would have to be sold . They have now cashed in their biggest asset in Zaha. Presumably Holloway knew this and was prepared to accept it. It was sound business to secure the sale and keep Zaha for the remainder of this season. Sadly his bubble has burst since the deal was agreed. If they can get to them Prem then it would look like shrewd business. If they don't then it will be interesting to see how they go from there. You cannot keep selling your best assets to offset shortfalls elsewhere and expect to progress. Difficult to see how Palace could break even once they have blown the Zaha money.

Their plan is to sell a player who has risen up through the academy ranks every 2 years for £10M+. They have Williams to flog but it looks like they don't have any more "superstars" progressing. Crewe Alexandra had the same idea which worked for many years but eventually the youth players in the academy aren't there because any potential "good-uns" are going to bigger clubs.
