He’s very much the Guv’nor as far as I’m concerned.
I’ve done 350 media interviews/articles etc so far this year and have been paid for four of them. Think the media don’t rate me enough to pay me (and who can blame them).

I'm not sure how long you've been doing your job.
But how much has football accountancy changed from the old Div1 days to the PL.
I can hazard a guess that today, its more like 'now you see it, now you don't ' (that is the money).
I for one wouldn't trade Palace's position for ours. We have state of the art facilities, a committed owner, a squad with a number of promising youth players coming through. I think the only thing they have over us is the best player in either squad. He wants out and in a softening market they will struggle to get the sort of fee they would need to meet their FFP obligations and upgrade their squad. If we are relegated it will set us back, but if not, I think we will surpass them in the league and they will be the ones looking over their shoulders at the trapdoor unless they can get new investment.
We appear to be working to a plan. I don't see much sign of one at their end. Time will tell of course.
Thanks, so even the rats did a runner then
Butting in.
In the last First Division season 1991/92, champions Leeds Utd reported:
Income £8.6m
Wage spend £4.5m
Squad cost £10.3m
The highest paid player in the country was John Barnes on £8,000 a week, when average First Division player pay was £1,100 per week.
2018/19 PL champions Man City reported:
Income £535m
Wage spend £315m
Current squad cost is £900m
Whilst ManU pay David De Gea and Alexis Sanchez £375k a week (a mere £19.5m each per annum).
[General UK prices are just double that of 1992].
Most of NSC pissed themselves when we signed that sweeper from Hameln.
Is he ORANGE by any chance?Harsh but FAIR. According to someone VERY high in the game I’m a “self styled football expert whose main talent seems to be as a self publicist”
#ringfencedTo be fair to Palace, that new stand they finished last year can't have been cheap.
Oh.
I genuinely have no idea what you are on about. If you mean brolin (wild guess) then yes, we did wet ourselves: laughing.
I know you're a decent chap. But your straw clutching is a bit embarrassing.Personally, I think the ten points we have over you may be another thing..
Who knows?
My own personal finances:
Second year into my lectureship 1991/92, dickbrain HWT reported:
Income £17.5K
Outgoings £20 K
Depth of shit: ****ing deep
Last meaningful year of my working life 2019/29, fatbelly HWT reported:
Income mmm let's say somewhere in the range £75-100K
Outgings, £50-70K
Depth of shit: Mmmmm...sorry what was the question?
The times change, innit, especially with social, cultural and financial promotion.
Jesus, how much are we paying him then?Steve Parish employment cost £3m (higher than the Albion)
Jesus, how much are we paying him then?
I for one wouldn't trade Palace's position for ours. We have state of the art facilities, a committed owner, a squad with a number of promising youth players coming through. They have an expensive squad with the 2nd oldest average age, owners looking to cash out, FFP issues, a ground and training facility in urgent need of renovation.

Completely agree. Barber IN. He's a class act.Barb’s - £1.5m.
Worth every penny.
Head and shoulders above other PL club CEO’s or owners over the last few months, led the way.
I agree with your point that I wouldn't trade places, but I am concerned at the relative difference in wages between the two clubs.
Considering the often quoted figures that they are paying there appears to be less than 1 Zaha between their annual wage bill and ours.
I'm assuming that we are paying for more players than them in total, and may have to look at pruning back over the coming few seasons.
Having dug a little deeper, I see that I was incorrect to say that there was less than one zaha between our wage bill.
There is in fact a Zaha, a Benteke and a Townsend between us.
I think i was right to state that we are paying for a bigger overall squad than Palace though.
Personally, I think the ten points we have over you may be another thing..
