Albion did jeust the same at the end of one season, I think 1991/2, by selling Mark Beeney their first-choice goalkeeper to Leeds for about £350k. That kept the club afloat at the time, paid off wages etc.

The tide is turning and I suspect the Palace gloating will be replaced by silent envy as we enjoy your struggle in League 2 (hopefully).

If you read carefully you'll see that most of us don't want you to go out of business but would take great delight in seeing you struggle at the ragged end of League 2 for a few seasons. Just to see how you fare with low crowds, a poor team made up of players no other team wants and shit results week in, week out. Most would also go on marches to support you if it ever comes to that.

Never understood the manufactured rivalry or the self fulfilling prophecy of it.Never stood up because,actually,I don't hate Palace or any other club come to that.And I don't like to see clubs having to go into administation especially as it ends up being a get out of jail free card more often than not,even if it takes a few years.

Remember Middlesbrough and that iconic photo of the padlock and chains at Ayresome Park when they were bankrupt? Suddenly there's the Riverside Stadium,and boodles of years in the top division.Leeds.Leicester,Pompey,Cardiff etc,etc.Debts at pence in the pound - thank you taxpayers.

Whoever we play,I want us to win.No,I want us to bloody murder the opposition whoever it is.Just as their fans want their team to do.

But I know a lot of supporters of other teams have helped our club down the difficult years,years that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

If Palace have to sell to survive,then so be it,but there is more to the history of both clubs than the heat/no light hangover from the seventies.

I told Russell about this , who deleted this innacurate info only for it to be reinstated because the original contributor objected. THE CLUB HAVE NEVER BEEN IN ADMINISTRATION , we have faced several winding up orders which ran very close to the wire which meant if one had been successful the club would have folded. B&HA had to lodge a £500k bond with the FL as a guarantee that fixtures would be completed and there was no more crowd trouble.

I love the rivalry, the piss takes, the put downs, the chants and everything that goes with it. For me it adds the essential ingredient, to what would otherwise be 22 blokes kicking a bag of air around a field. Each to their own though.

Stockport have been going on in this condition for about a season and a half, surely Palace won't go out of business. Losing all their good players is only just since they couldn't afford them to begin with.

I don't disagree with any of that bar the highlighted bit. Plenty of "Brighton" fans have come out of the woodwork since our financial problems. I would of given them banter previously but a lot of them didn't associate themselves with BHAFC, funny that.

The current situation is worsening by the day. It really frustrates me that tin pot clubs like QPR were saved from administration and now are one of the richest clubs in the world. I'd be delighted with a Bloom like character to rescue us but we're not even getting that at the moment.

Plenty of you have slagged Palace off for effectively cheating by going into administration. I don't know how many times it needs to be said but Agilo PUT us into administration. Jordan was the catalyst behind our financial turmoil but it's well publicised that Agilo hit the panic button and now we're suffering even more as a result.

I can definitely see a lot of our youth team coming into the first team next season, that'll be interesting but they are one of the best Under 18's sides in the country so my blind optimism hopes they do a job.
