To be honest we should be expecting 3 points at home against a lowly placed team that has only won 2 games all season (Spurs & Ipswich). However, we know that he Albion often slip up at home against lesser sides especially when fans have to walk clockwise- this time I think a point is the least we will get - expecting and hoping for all 3.

Lots were doom and gloom last year. Then we smashed them.

theyve got players back and have found some form

The current version of Palace would be mid table IMO

An hour before kick off ….. eyes closed fingers crossed on both hands… one eye squinting looking for the notification of the team - quietly reciting “4 at the back 4 at the back 4 at the back” ….

To be fair, our last game against Palace came mere DAYS after our 4-0 loss away at Luton, which in turn was preceded by two goalless draws in the league (plus two thrashings of gash sides in the Cup). Didn't do Palace any good!
Then Hodgson fell ill and was released . Glassy boy came in and Palace went on a European chasing run. On paper we are better than them and should win at home. On paper we are better than Wolves Saints and Leicester but we are Brighton!

I voted death or glory.

I detest them, with a passion.

We have to go for a win.

Remember, how iit felt when they beat us in the play off game, it couldn’t possibly be worse than that, if we lost.

Remember the last time we did the double over them, Knockys unbelievable goal from outside the box. Remember last season, 4-1, how good did that feel.
Remember, beating them 3-1 with only 10 men for 70 minutes, remember the StPaddy’s Day massacre, Spanish Dave’s wonderful free kick just on halftime. Remember the singing on the concourses all through that halftime.

That is how I want to be feeling at 4 o’clock on Sunday.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that supports the Seagulls with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Dunkys day.

Nah can't accept a point, we've got to aim for the win. Actually, this is a massive game and we need to turn it on. Had we got some wins in the precious few, maybe Iwpuld have taken a point but right now 3 points is a must IMO!

I think we’re better than them. I firmly believe we’ll turn up for this one and win comfortably, without it being a thrashing. 2-0 Albion, goal in each half.

Plus I’m not going, and I have never seen us beat Palace. In fact, I’ve been to every Albion/Palace game since my teens and the only games I’ve missed we’ve won. Good omens

I will be in attendance and I've just worked out it will be the first Albion-Palace match-up I've seen live in ... 33 years

The previous occasion was the 2-0 defeat at the Goldstone Ground in the Zenith Data Systems Cup in February 1991.

Well, my first Albion game was in 1976... I think you're slightly confusing the side (players) with the fans (me, you, the rest of us). I hate and despise Palace, I'm an ignorant, viscerally tribal supporter rather than a dispassionate connoisseur of the game, I can't help but travel back from overseas to watch us play the bastards, plus I'm an impressively bad loser. So the prospect of losing to them is worse than losing to anyone else - I dread these bloody games, and always have. I turn up, I make noise, I've never left a game early in my life, I'd even be interested in you telling me more about my lost bottle sometime. But positive? Nah.

You took my whole rather tongue in cheek post far, far too seriously and too personally - didn’t the big balls cartoon give you a clue? 😂

Of course I’m not confused about the difference between the team and the fans - I was referring to us the fans as the Brighton ‘side’ in a purely tribal sense v Palace fans not in the literal sense of the team itself - so thanks for the patronising and unnecessary clarification.

Secondly my first Albion game was in 1967 and I have supported Brighton ever since - so I have no idea what the rest of your post has to do with anything.

Neither of us want to lose - the only difference between you and me in this hypothetical scenario, is that I want a win more than you want to avoid a loss.

I refuse to settle for a point at home when we can beat them.
