I don't know why you're all getting uptight about a little bit of music. Durham's the biggest wind up merchant in football, so I wouldn't take any notice of that prat.
I'm not too fussed with it , but our support are split on it, so expect a decision soon on its future. Anyway, you only get to hear it a few times once a year, we normally have it a few times most games !

Do you hum along to seven nation army when it plays, coorrr bet that gets the crowd going. Exciting stuff!

Will our own sorry bunch of 'ultras' please take heed of this thread and knock it on the head now. They have it a go, it didnt catch on, and as a result we have been spared being put in the same bracket as what is officially the country's most cringeworthy club thank the Gods.

You stripey Nigels would be as bad, if not worse if this was the other way around.

It really is the most cringeworthy two-bob bollocks you could ever encounter at a football match. Goal music is an offensive abomination in itself which completely wrecks the euphoria and spontaneity of a goal celebration - Reading, Palace and Naarch being probably the most toxic offenders in the League. But to also couple that with an announcer gurning away over the tannoy like "Kid Jenson" on acid, choreographing the fans to repeat the goalscorers name like a bunch of dribbling lobotomised mongoloids at a Punch & Judy show - wow. Just wow. That just takes it on to a whole different level of stupendously stunning and embarrassing naffness.

The Palace lodgers on here will no doubt try to counter with some crap about fictional songsheets which they allege are handed out at the Amex (never seen, not even once, other than on a PDF which does the rounds on the BBS). And the embarrassing occasion one game early last season, when someone got overexcited with the controls on the new big screens and put words up (which mercifully was rapidly binned after an immediate backlash from the fans).

But the fact is, when it comes to the toe-curling cringe factor, Palace's post-goal bobbins is totally off the scale. Its absolutely unrivalled.

This is the man who thinks its cool to walk around town in his Brighton top with "Easy" printed on the back !!
You really couldnt make it up !!!:clap::clap:

It's good that it's getting national press recognition, and as we have all known for a long time, is 100percent true. Def the most cringey club. Shame they did miss the 'chairman's' twittering out tho, as well as the tinpot message board rants.

It is nice having such a poor excuse of a club as a rival tho, always able to look down and laugh.. :)

Did anyone else catch Talksport yesterday when Adrian Durham introduced a new feature? They started playing glad all over and Alice and I thought, 'here we go, a palace love-in'. Then Durham went on to say that he wants to nominate them as the most cringeworthy club around because of:

- their goal music (why do u need music to generate an atmosphere when you've just scored?)

- after the goal music, it gets worse. The announcer says in a cheesey voice, for example, 'and the goal scorer is Gleeeenn Murrayyyy' ...... Followed by him repeating the first name 'Gleeeeeenn' and pausing so that the Palace fans shout back the surname 'MURRAY!'.

- they've created their own ultras to try to be inter Milan

- he went on to say they should be banned from appearing in the prem should they gain promotion due to these embarrassments!

Not sure if u can catch up on Talksport if u missed it but it was on around 5:15 at a guess. Made my journey home very entertaining and couldn't help agreeing with Adrian Durham for once!

Yes i heard it. Sure made me chuckle.

Who are "they"? I think fans like you spend an inordinate amount of time cringing on behalf of other fans when perhaps you ought to look a bit closer to home to find things to cringe about! Anyone bringing noise and colour to the Amex or any other stadium is welcome in my opinion. Home or away fans. But I do find all this in-bitching somewhat tiresome. The real irony is "they" couldn't give a flying f*** what you or anyone else "cringing" thinks of their flags etc. They're just friends enjoying football together at the end of the day! Far too busy enjoying the game, suggest you so likewise and stop worrying about the opinions of others as they don't! You sound like a pubescent teenager worried about what to wear on a good night out rather than focusing on getting stuck into the lager Like a real MAN! No offence like...

As a Posh fan, he was unlikely to bring that up...

The principle of goal music being shit isn't an opinion - it is a fact.

Similarly, if you think you're going to get a rise out of me over the fact that Glenn Murray scored, you won't. That's the problem of imbeciles on here - and Palace fans. The two are much the same.

I would say 'nice try', but really it wasn't.

I know of no such club.

I don't think you know what an opinion is old boy, or a fact for that matter. But hey everyone else are the imbeciles, right ?

I think you mean 'look up' don't you. 9 points now, 12 points in a couple of hours :)

Mind the gap...

Really can't be arsed to get into a slanging match. You have your opinion and I have mine. I laugh at fully grown adults who call themselves ultras, you think it's acceptable. Fine with me. Like you say they don't give a f*** so I'm not entirely sure why you've written that little essay.

Palace fan here....my view is (for what it's worth)

- I don't mind the stadium blaring out 'Glad All Over' after score. But if we binned it, I wouldn't care.
- I HATE the stadium announcer...getting the crowd to chat the surname of the player that just scored is TIN POT. He's generally a dick...and most fans I sit with and my mates don't take part in any of this crap.
- I don't mind the cheerleaders and flying eagle before the game. At least the cheerleaders are fit.
- Some of the pre match stuff we've tried over the years is crap (I remember a bomb firework going off when the teams entered the pitch a few years ago that made fans cringe ...really duff).
- Selhurst Park is duff and we need to move to a new stadium and improve our general martketing and club image
- I understand why we get slated!
