It gives you all an excuse to have a go for once fill yer boots . Tbh i don't take a lot of notice of it , the goal Scoreres name bit I quite like but the music I don't really notice at all . You lot probably notice it more than us it doesn't bother me what other clubs think and especially Durham . It does get a bit boring when you hear it 3 or 4 times though .
I was expecting a Palace whinge but that is actually quite a good post; especially the last sentence. Tosser. (Sorry didn't really mean that but I had to say something unkind!)

Did anyone else catch Talksport yesterday when Adrian Durham introduced a new feature? They started playing glad all over and Alice and I thought, 'here we go, a palace love-in'. Then Durham went on to say that he wants to nominate them as the most cringeworthy club around because of:

- their goal music (why do u need music to generate an atmosphere when you've just scored?)

- after the goal music, it gets worse. The announcer says in a cheesey voice, for example, 'and the goal scorer is Gleeeenn Murrayyyy' ...... Followed by him repeating the first name 'Gleeeeeenn' and pausing so that the Palace fans shout back the surname 'MURRAY!'.

- they've created their own ultras to try to be inter Milan

- he went on to say they should be banned from appearing in the prem should they gain promotion due to these embarrassments!

Not sure if u can catch up on Talksport if u missed it but it was on around 5:15 at a guess. Made my journey home very entertaining and couldn't help agreeing with Adrian Durham for once!

Cue .... March 17th
First goal goes in and unsuspected goal music "And we're feeling glad Ulloa" afterwards the announcer bellows "and the goal scorer is Spanish Len" followed by "Spanish ....". 90% of Brighton fans get it wrong by saying "Dave"

SOG - that just made me laugh out loud mate ! Although I doubt I would on the day.

To the couple who asked, I like the call and response and the music, and it segues nicely into one of our big songs we sing after scoring. As with the Watford away thread I'm all for anything that increases the noise and atmosphere, and with 99% from the fans that's ok with me.

Never listened to talkshite and never will. The tinpot thing is just a word, that literally makes no sense and people can say it as much as they like it makes no difference to me. I go to Palace for the atmosphere which has been great for years now.

That's funny Grimbo, I'll give you that :p

Thread title is slightly misleading though OP. It should say 'by Adrian **** face Durham' at the end...

Like, f***ing hell.

Don't get me wrong, it's not specifically Palace that anyone would look at for the banal naffness of after-goal music (though you really don't help yourselves), it's more that you come onto someone else's forum - a superior one at that, free of floppy syrup-matted chairmen threatening litigation - and freely and happily admit it?

You don't need to listen to TalkShite (I don't anyway) to query whether the sheer purgatory and bile-inducing repugnancy of after-goal music has still not smashed you in the face yet?

Utterly tinpot, but I imagine I would have loved "Glad All Over" after the goals when they narrowly defeated us ( ) earlier in the season. The atmosphere and the meaning in the game was there for all to see and I think I'd have enjoyed it as a one off. Because it didn't blow up in their faces. If we'd ROARED back from 3-0 down to win it would have been absolutely hilarious and unforgettable.

That said, I don't want goal music at the Amex, EVER. Under ANY circumstances. Just to be clear.

If the Amex was to ever have goal music, id consider walking out - it is that bad for me.

But coming from this topic, Palace really do think they are the Inter Milan of English football dont they ? Shame they play in a slum in the English 2nd Tier and dont have world beating players.

I personally do not like the goal music. Brighton fans should not worry about adopting it at the Amex though, They will hardly ever hear it.

I'm surprised, I detest US style goal music etc. We had lyrics on our screen for one match (one match too many) and I hated it. We all hated, and we complained so it never happened again. If they did the rubbish you lot have to put up with we'd all complain again and stop it, because it's crap and embarrassing. That you think it's good is quite a surprise to me.

Goal music, and the announcer prompting the crowd, and the eagle, and the 50 blokes with a drum, and the bits of card being held up as an 'intimidating' (hilarious) display, are all very, very tinpot. A drum and goal music in particular (not exclusive to palace) are horrendous and worthy of ridicule whichever club is guilty. All that said, Durham is a force ten bellend and Talkshite is exactly that - shite. It might be a valid point but its not exactly from a respected source.

All of this crap is like the England Band... Seriously lame attempts to force atmosphere. When Brighton score, I love the noise of the crowd. Goal music kills that a tad for me...
