Trains are looking/hoping to be somewhat more normal on the Friday between the two strike days than previous industrial action, rather than the late start up Sunday service it should hopefully be a normal weekday service just with a late start. Not set in stone yet but that's the information I've heard.

Friday night seems a better bet than Sunday? But I guess the police will need confirmation they can get Palace back on their train to London via Lewes as normal?

Coming down on the train are they?

You forget that Lenny has access to a fleet of stretch Limos that aren't usually used at weekends:wink:

How long has it been clear the trains will be up the chute, last week sometime? Seems a bit late in the day even with all the involved parties to consult, quick call with the clubs, league and suss pol job done no?

Chelsea v WHU, played last Saturday was originally set to be played on the Sunday.

It was changed at 8 days notice (after the CL draw was made) so a late change is not unprecedented.

Personally I can't see how our game against Palace can be played on the Saturday.

Still 500+ tickets available for this match by the way

I imagine a lot of people have thought there isn't much point in buying a ticket, just barge in and jump the barriers, thats the done thing for this fixture, isn't it?

Seems strange that the Chelsea v WH game was ever changed to a Sunday with the prior knowledge of Chelsea in the CL ..but get am I surprised nah

It can be played given that the teams and officials would not be dependent on trains. Then its down to those with tickets on how they overcome the issue of no trains to get to the game.
I'm sure that many would work out that they even if all park & ride sites become full, they can park in town and get buses to the ground. It may mean getting parked earlier than normal as the buses will be busy, but no doubt those who are fit could walk from town.

Where's the wartime spirit and can do attitude.

To quote CJ I didn't get where I am today by staying at home when the trains weren't running.

Get all of that (and loved Reggie P BTW) - not sure how our friends from the north will cope....and perhaps more importantly how Sussex Police will either.

Thumbs up for the Perrin reference alone. I do also agree with your general point too.

If the game is played can we keep the Palace fans in for two hours whilst the rest of the ground is cleared? You know it makes sense

It's also payback for being kept in and corralled after the 5-0
