Has Schlupp signed again? I guess he hasn't got many other decent options, he has missed a lot of games through injury over the last 2 seasons, as will Eze this season, difficult to flourish from the treatment table.

No, he's one or nine of the current 22 man squad whose contracts expire between now and next season.

Strange they haven't hooked him and the other 8 into signing a new contract, as surely they are a valuable part of this new squad that's being built?

I can’t imagine as there is no real evidence of what Paddy can do. He had one successful season with an established squad followed by a crap season that ultimately got him sacked.

Klopp would have his work cut out trying to be successful with where your squad is at the moment.

Zaha is the one player that walks into our squad. That's it. His ability is beyond question.
But to be honest most of us wouldn't want him here as his temperament wouldn't fit in with the squad.

Of your young prospects, Eze/Olisie/Guehi Look to have a lot of potential.
Olisie particularly looks like a good signing, but we don't need him as things stand and isn't currently better than we've got. So he doesn't "walk" into our squad.

Trossard vs Eze is down to personal choice - Eze doesn't walk into our side - I'm happy with what we've got. (Trossard went to the Euros with Belgium and performs pretty well for us)
Guehi - Doesn't compete (yet) against Dunk/Webster/Veltman I'm not including White because he's as good as gone.

Bissouma/Dunk/Webster/Veltman/Lamptey walk into your squad as things stand at the moment.

March vs Schlupp - happy with what we have thanks.

Then there's MacAllister/Mwepu/Caceido/Moder/Karbownik/Sanchez Young players with a lot of potential - all have played at international level and highly rated. I don't see anything in your squad I'd rather have.

Would you!? In his best season for years, he got one more goal and one less assist than Maupay last year. In the previous three seasons combined, he managed a total of six goals! I wouldn't take him on Connolly's wages, let alone what Palace are paying him.

I haven't seen much of the two new signings from the Championship, but Zaha is the only one who walks into any team in the league. Eze is promising and would be challenging for a place with Trossard, McAllister, Gross, Lallana etc. Reidewald definitely behind Bissouma, would have been behind Propper, who we've just sold, perhaps behind some of the youngsters fighting to be Bis's replacement. Guaita would be on the bench behind Sanchez. Nobody else gets a place in the matchday squad.

The off season always allows fans the chance to create their own perceptions of how good their players are. Palace's big risk is that the reason for them finishing above us last year was not due to quality of players, it was due to a very pragmatic, well organised and experienced manager, who knew how to cut his cloth, maximise his resources and protect what he had.

My warning to Milo (Is that a Catch 22 reference or a Tweenies one?) would be that fans are always subject to confirmation bias in terms of their own players. Its easy to think that it is only the manager's stifling tactics that prevent the players from becoming a dynamic attacking force, without ever considering that he sees the players every day, he knows their strengths and weaknesses, he has analysed the opposition and he knows far more about football than you do. I was concerned when Chris Hughton left Brighton and Graham Potter was tasked with taking us in a different direction. I wasn't sure that the players could make the changes needed. That they have done over the last two seasons has been incredible, not just to me, but to the likes of Klopp and Guardiola, who have both expressed how difficult it is to play the football that Potter wants to play with a squad who's starting goal is survival. That's the challenge that faces Vieira. Potter has shown that it's not impossible, but instances of teams changing a pragmatic approach and still surviving are very rare. Its an admirable aim, but its a huge risk. In our experience, Palace fans will need to be patient. They will need to be forgiving. They will need to have realistic expectations about the pace of progress. This time around the throat cutting gestures may need to be put on hold for a while.

Guehi is better than Veltman for starters. Lampety is better going forward than Ward but Ward the better defender. The other 3 I would agree with.
