I was about to umm that as well.

I'm not going in 2-footed though, as loz is generally one of the less objectionable Palace posters on here, albeit a little misguided. I'm still chuckling at the "string of world class players produced at the Palace academy".

Look I am the only one still trying here guys…you can’t say Kenny sansom was not world class ?

Hodgson is still being paid by Palace until tomorrow as he wasn’t sacked and is running his contact down, so they couldn’t appoint a new manager before then…well they could but what would the point be…see Spurs & Everton.

That load of bollocks is almost as good as Boris trying to claim that he sacked Hancock after saying the matter was closed.

Hang on, let me try. Hruh-humm.

"Kenny Sansom was not world class."

That was a piece of piss :)

Really 300 odd games for Arsenal when they were good and 86 games for England.

What’s your definition of world class for an English player ?

Playing for Arsenal and England does not, by definition, make you a "world class player". Sansom was a very competent fullback back in the day, but it really depends on your definition of world class.

And even if we (rather generously) accept that Sansom was world class - its hardly evidence of the Palace academy production line of world class players you intimated to in your post the other day. Its hardly La Masia, now is it.

I think personally the palace academy has been successful over the years, you may disagree.

I didn't know managers were ring fenced as well.

That's some seriously impressive mental gymnastics.
It does you no favours whatsoever, it makes you look more like Dougie et al, and not,

well...

...normal.

That’s an absolute load of rubbish, even if Palace are still paying Roy as he’s under contract they can still agree a deal with a new manager to officially take over when he leaves.

When Pelligrini announced he’d be leaving Man City at the end of the 15-16 season they also announced Pep would be taking over, the deals were all signed and announced at the start of Feb 2016 despite Pep not officially taking over until July.

The simple fact is despite having a very good idea Roy was going to walk away at the end of the season Palace were completely unprepared for his leaving which is piss poor planning.

The situation at Everton is completely different as their manager left for another club, but they still managed to get it done quicker than Palace have. Spurs managerial search has rivalled Palaces for being a car crash.

If it is Patrick his record is ok ish

On 11 June 2018, Vieira was appointed as the manager of Ligue 1 side Nice, departing New York City in the process.[121] In his first season in charge, he led the club to a seventh-placed finish in the league, one place greater than what the club had achieved in their previous league campaign under the management of Lucien Favre.[122]

OK, where to start ....

Some managers are paid for months after they've left the role and the club's appointed someone else, so that's nowhere near justification for non-appointment. Are you really saying that Parrish has got this right?

The main point here, as someone else kindly mentioned is we're delighted with the appointment as are you, so it's all good and rosy in the respective garden's of Croydon and Brighton!

He'll not be in the role come the end of next season, sadly.

To be fair to loz Sansome was a really good defender, I associate him more with Arsenal but it’s true he did come through Palace’s academy. 50 years ago.

so, IF I have got this right, then most of Palaces Premier League squad from last season all became free agents at midnight yesterday, Patrick Viera who was due to be announced as the official manager sometime yesterday wasn't, (in exactly the same way Favre was going to be announced )

So Palace , with pre-season starting in a matter of days officially have no manager, few player coaches, and virtually no first team players under contract.

With Everton and Spurs (finally) sorting out their managerial woes, this must leave Palace in the worst ever position any team has ever been in whilst preparing for a new season

I actually feel sorry for the majority of Palace fans (Not the Dougies , or the Ultras of course) as they must be wondering just what the **** is going on

As far as I know all the coaches apart from Ray Lewington are still in there jobs, in fact last week palace employed a new head scout from Norwich, I think most clubs these days have coaches that do nor come with the manager like in the olden days, I presume this is because if a manger leaves or is sacked the rest of the club carries on with the same policy ie Academy, u18 and u 23s are not effected.

I am pretty sure BHA have the same policy?

BHA have a policy of not sacking a manager whilst not having a SCOOBY who they are going to replace him with.

Well, Paul Trollope and Paul Nevin left when Hughton did, and Billy Reid and Bjorn Hamberg came in with Potter, and GP even insisted on his own recruitment guy joining. The only first-team coach who stayed was Ben Roberts.

Replacing anyone below first-team level at the same time as a first-team manager must be unusual at any club surely?

Sorry loz but you've fallen for the spin master that issued statements about the new stadium what he meant to say was "Palace employed a Scout", it's Bob 'a' Job week mate, I can see where the mix up is though!

Dave Reddington has left his role as first-team coach at Crystal Palace and joined Danish side Aarhus Gymnastikforening (AGF).

Reddington became first-team coach under Roy Hodgson in 2018, having first joined the club in 2004. He worked with the Academy for four years before taking on a role with Watford.

He returned to south London in 2013, becoming Under-23s assistant coach for two seasons.

Dave has played a key role on the coaching staff throughout his time with Palace, both with the Academy and first-team, and everyone at the club wishes him the best for his future endeavours.

Still no confirmation? 37 days in. How long to go until "Vacant" has been in charge at Crystal Palace longer than Frank De Boer? To be fair, he's won just as many games.

Think that squad might need trimming down.

Only 4 English players that have played more than 20 times for them in the Premier League
