My first trip to the Amex yesterday and first game for 5 weeks after surgery
Its a great stadium, and to be fair, train link was good, although the wait afterwards for the train home was interminable. Weirdly it went as far as Lewes and then turned round
My thoughts on the game are that we caught you on a bad day, and us on a good day
The chance for Mitoma early on, if he scores its totally different.
Henderson had a great game, making at least 4 good stops
We took our chances, but could have had more, the disallowed goal, and Eddie's comical miss
On another day this ends 3-3. I said before the game I would rip my Albion mates hand off and run back to London if he offered me a point, but now obviously 3 points was very welcome
Dunk looked a shadow of his former self, but at least he cared.
Shame that so many sung the she said no song, but he does play the role of pantomime villain very well
Looking forward to the return

Fair play Dan

Saw many more Palace fans at East Croydon on the way down.
You may have been one of them?

Not sure if there were more travelling, or they are more comfortable advertising their allegiance, than they were under Hodgson.

I left with the fire drill to avoid travelling back to London with any Palace fans.
Glad you enjoyed your trip
Hopefully the return trip is as soul crushing for your lot as yesterday was for us.

A far more reasoned and thoughtful analysis of the game than by many on these boards. Well played that man...

Every team moans about ever other teams players diving.

It's all teams and all players.
Unfortunately, I'd have to agree with you.

Opposition fans gave Zaha stick for his "diving" for years, but I never saw him go down without contact. He was an opportunist and usually knew when he'd received just enough contact to warrant falling over for a penalty, but he never actually cheated. He received three yellow cards for diving in his career and all three of them would have been overturned for a penalty by VAR.

Eze, on the other hand, is a relentless cheat and often hits the deck well in advance of any incoming challenge - and nobody says a thing!

@Dougie a Christmas present just for you, and the Always Ultras.

The thing with Palace and diving.

The last season before VAR came in, you got 11 penalties.

The first season of VAR, you got 3 penalties.

Something changed.

It seems that things are finally beginning to happen at the "Stade de Clad"- although if I have read it correctly negotiations to acquire land are still ongoing with Sainsburys, Local residents and the council

Comments seem to be of the "will believe it when I see it" variety

"In recent seasons, the portacabin has housed the opposition changing rooms, which will need to be relocated until the dressing rooms are finished in the new stand. The opposition changing rooms will therefore be placed underneath the Holmesdale Road stand. However, the basement of that stand is not currently watertight but as you can see from the pictures below £1million worth of investment has already begun to make the area completely dry and fit for purpose."

How lovely.
Will the rats from the training ground kitchen be transferred, I wonder.

The saddest thing for me is that they all must be being coached to do it.
We didn't for so long but kept being burned by the likes of Burnley, Fulham and Villa by the 'dark arts' so must have decided to join them.
A blight on modern football.

Genuine question - what do Palace fans think about this whole ‘1861’ claim that’s now on the badge?

I was looking in fourfourtwo and it doesn’t seem to have edged Notts County out from top spot. I know Bochum in Germany did something similar with mixed results.

Me personally…it’s bollocks, the modern club was founded in 1904 ( palace have never been liquidated as some say on here but has had new ownerships throughout that time )

But there is no doubt a team called Crystal Palace played at the Crystal Palace in 1861….just not the same club though.

That’s my thoughts on the matter.
