Wolves and West Ham did play each other, and Wolves won 3-1

And we should have been in Europe way before, back in 1991, when we finished 3rd in the top league, and only an about turn by Uefa stopped us taking part. Imagine that 3rd in the top flight and not qualifying for Europe, unlike Brighton finishing 6th/7th and qualifying
When you say 'we' what do you mean? Your club has only existed since 2010 and by all rights should be trying to work itself up from some god-forsaken non league position.

Imagine that yeah 3rd in 1991 when the top league had far more investment and far better players than it did when we scraped a 6th. That certainly tells us !!

So you didn't play in Europe then? Imagine getting 3rd and not playing 1 game in Europe. 😂😂

Us playing in Europe before you, trumps the 3-1 at the Amex when we first played you there, and the play off semis. 😀

Olise 45 million + add ons

Guehi 50 million + add ons

Caicedo 115 million, no add ons money up front.

Levels.

😂😂😂😂
Where has that figure come from? The only figures I've seen are Fabrizio Romano saying £65m & the Telegraph saying "well in excess of £60m"

£65m is probably a fair fee. We get a large amount of money for a player running down his contract, and Newcastle get England's best central defender.

i actually think 60 million for him is a great deal, He's a good defender but i question his ability on the ball.

Admittedly I only watched him for England closely over the summer, but going on that his passing range is limited

yup 60 million is a cracking fee…. Must also be remembered that he only played once as centre back in our 10 game streak at the end of last season, so wasn’t really missed TBH.

I don't get the he didn't play in the last 10 games so wont be missed argument. He was not missed because you did not have any more injuries. If/when you get injuries at that position, you will miss him if he is sold.

Sorry about that, saw it being bandied about on twitter yesterday that it was 50 plus 10 in add ons.

Is it true Chelsea have a 20% sell on clause in the original contract when they sold him to you?

£12 million is a huge amount to pay on a £42 million profit.

I don't think anyone really knows. When we signed Guehi it was reported that Chelsea have "matching rights" but no sell-on clause. I suppose we'll find out!

His ability on the ball is excellent. He can pass short and long (with both feet!) and he can carry the ball out of defence. He's also blisteringly quick and very rarely beaten on the ground.

The only real weakness I've noticed over the years is that he's not particularly strong in the air, and he has a tendency to... err... perhaps allow long balls to bounce. 😬

They are reporting it in the Sun on line, I think.

I won’t click on that website, so I only saw a re-tweet someone had posted.
I thought that’s a quite hefty sell on.

Actually it was reported (Guardian and other MSM) at the time that Chelsea did have a sell on clause as well as a buy back clause.

And it’s also widely reported (Times and other MSM) that it’s 20%.

So, simple maths, you paid £18m, you’ll sell for (say) £60. You’ll net £30m.

You did get your own back to be fair, by inviting yourselves to the Inter Toto cup when no one else volunteered

Surely the 20% would only be on the profit, not on the full selling price?
