We're already playing kamikaze football.
But we haven't got that either. I'm resigned to the fact we are down if Hyypia stays, I can't see anything that gives me any hope he can turn it around, he really is the most clueless manager I have ever seen...I can't believe he is still here tbh. Bloom in my eyes is really damaging his reputation in some fans eyes..Yes he is a legend but that doesn't mean he is immune to bad decisions. He is a fan at the end of the day, he might know a balance sheet when he see's one, but he knows no more or less about football, than the vast majority of fans and he has got this wrong, on a massive scale.
I'm sorry but when you are in a relegation battle players like Paddy are a luxury.
I live watching him going on his mazy runs like anyone but so far we haven't scored as a result, but how many have we conceded from having a lightweight player on the pitch.
You seem to be basing your point on the argument that because people started raving about him after a couple of cameo appearance where he had a couple of trademark runs, that it somehow disproves the idea fans have gotten carried away over their praise for him.
Which is clearly flawed. The myth can easily have grown since he joined us, especially with threads like this after 2 league cup (v lower division opponents) and one league appearance: https://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/showthread.php?309697-Is-Paddy-McCourt-the-best-Albion-player-ever
I'm not suggesting that fans didn't get a bit carried away about Paddy - I'm saying that it happened organically rather than being the result of some pervasive pre-existing "myth" that they'd unthinkingly bought in to... most fans knew **** all about him and were just reacting to what they saw on the pitch
Anyway, its clear that there's a basic split between those who believe that Paddy can bring us something special and those that don't...lets just beg to differ and get on with supporting our team
If he cant get into his Brighton side either he isnt all that or the manager is not all that for not picking him. Its one or t'other.
Aaron Hughes: “I see Paddy day to day now being at Brighton. I see his quality every single training session. We all know what he can do. Paddy brings that flair, that quality.”
I know he comes from "Oireland" the land of "half-pissed pub teams" (Christ - are we back in the 70s??) but its fair to assume that Aaron's assessment of a fellow-professional carries more weight than the borderline-offensive post above
Its one thing looking regularly bloody amazing against a bunch of half-pissed pub teams in Oireland on a YouTube montage. Quite another turning it on to a consistent level in a proper league.
He's another waste of wages here, yet another sad indictment to our shambolic transfer policies this last 6-12 months. Just add McCourt to the ever-expanding scraphead of utterly pointless players this season consisting of Agustein, Holla, O'Grady, Teixeira, Toko, Halford, Al-Habsi....
We've sold the family silver, and replaced it with tupperware. You reap what you sow, and shite like McCourt, led by the monotone dronings of Hyypia, will not be saving us from L1. Drastic action is needed by TB, and soon. But I fear he's painted himself into a corner here, and will be too stubborn to act.
