Really interested to hear what you think my agenda is then as I really have no idea myself. If you do reply to this post, please tell me what my agenda is.

Maths is dull, but we have c25,000 STHs (incl. 1901ers) and there are (or were) 1,000 seats up for sale with a fair chunk already sold. Let's ignore the fair chunk already sold. 1,000 / 25,000 is 4%, or twice your 1-in-50. Given the ones already sold, it's likely more like 3-in-50 that have been put up for sale.

Anyway, I don't give a shit about poor maths.

My only points (subject to my TBA agenda) are:

1. That I can't recall any game against a "big side" where so many seats have been available.
2. I can completely understand why that is the case right now, as for the Covid-concerned, it's quite a leap of faith.

Point 2 really answers point 1……I still don’t think 1 or 2 in 50 is a lot in the circumstances, Also likely more are on the exchange rather than simply being left empty (which is a good thing)

As for ‘agenda’, bad choice of win my part.

I just do not understand the club’s thinking with the ticket swap system. It ‘might’ have worked pre-Covid when we had 5k on the ST waiting list. Now that waiting list is gone and we can’t fill the ground it looks like what it is……a mistake. They are allowed to make them.

When you say can’t fill the ground, we’ve sold the ground out, then are re-selling already sold ST seats. We’ve likely sold hundreds of exchange seats already.

The point is the ground won't be full and you know it

Whether it would be full if tickets could be freely passed around - given present circumstances I don’t know, probably not still, definitely not as many empty, but I doubt 1000 ST holders listing their seats all have mates/family they could pass tickets to but can’t. I do think the sharing policy is an arse, but I don’t think it changes what we’re seeing here much.

And, legally, you aren't allowed to pass your ticket around! A blind eye has been turned for many a year but it doesn't change the legality as far as I'm aware.

Your letter to PB should be good. 'Dear Mr Barber, why are the club doing their damndest to stop me breaking the law?'

It is against T & Cs not against the law but Like 1901 do it is ok to pass ticket on with permission from club.

You've lost me again - who has an agenda? I certainly don't.

I completely understand why a relatively large subset of our season ticket holders are willing to forego attending right now, despite our incredible progress and the calibre of the opposition.

I have the memory of a goldfish, but I can't recall any other comparable game over recent years where so many exchange seats were available.

I to am amazed against one of worlds best sides 1000 tickets available on exchange. Of course covid is an issue but have no doubt many of those listing in past would have passed ticket on and would be less empty seats

£45 and rising for two 45 minute halves of football isn't a small sum to many, no matter how people might dress it up, compare it to having a restaurant meal etc.

Covid, half-term and match day prices eye-watering

However if you could just pass on your ST without all this MyAlbion nonsense the club would have actual bums on seats and perhaps additional revenue spent

But Barber knows best

Don’t get angry, organise I believe is the phase.

Maybe we could all volunteer to have a count up in our respective blocks later and report back?

Aren’t you going today anyway with your mate using someone else’s phone ?

Every game so far our row has been ‘sold out’…….and every game so far it has been nowhere near full. For the Everton game only 6 seats were occupied.

Our two seats have sold on the exchange, but then I put them on a couple of weeks ago.

That's a very poor analogy. You can pick your restaurant depending on your budget and there are plenty where you would spend more than £45 per head. There is only one Brighton and Hove Albion and they are the premier local team. That said, if you have a limited budget then there are other football teams lower down the pyramid you can go to but you won't be watching, arguably, the best team in the world!

Thanks, that would seem to be the case but this article suggests that if you sell on your ticket without the clubs permission you can be banned and get a criminal conviction. You wouldn't get the latter if it was just a breach of T & Cs as surely it would just be a civil matter.

The main fact is you are responsible for person ticket is passed to. If it occurs that person is an undesirable club will understandably be in a position to ban you. Thankfully anybody I have given ticket to in past has behaved themselves but in most cases to old to cause trouble

I just picked up a ticket in W1I.
Concerned about covid but f*ck it, no-one lives forever and I cannot be spending the rest of my life avoiding everything risky.
