Jesus wept. How is that breaking the law?

I'm intrigued to hear your point.

I wish we lived in an age when people didn't get so upset about passing a ticket on to a fellow fan or friend, which you've paid for, for free as what normal friends do.

It's not just that though. Being made to pay £25 to pass on to someone who now has to have a membership is a joke. Yet more money we have to fork out.

Linked to football banning orders I would imagine

Despite the empty seats

- Club just confirmed they’ve sold out the 1901 club for the third 5 year cycle in a row
- they now have a record number of season ticket holders (24,000)
- Arsenal was the record day of sales per head for catering , and overall sales for catering … ever.

Well fancy that. Someone must be going then , or sharing their tickets or using the exchange but agreed some can’t or won’t.

Including me unfortunately. Missing a rare game today due to the virus…it’s horrible. Keep safe everyone …

Well fancy that Chailey Jem defending the club once again.
Just because the club sold out the 1901 and made a load of money on catering doesn't make what they are doing right.
I know so many fans that are pissed off and won't be renewing next season, which is such a shame as we have a cracking team.

The ticket sharing scheme is bloody awful.

It's more a case of T&Cs causing the problem - this is nothing new it has been a standard for years. For example, It used to apply to train tickets (maybe it still does?) but no family has ever been turfed off a train or fined because dad bought the tickets for all of them, or if one person queued up and bought two tickets, one for a friend who was queueing for the buffet.

Are you suggesting that you can't legally buy a train ticket for someone else?

That's nonsense!

It really is astonishing how many people swallow the PR drivel about how wonderful everything is and ignore what they see with their own eyes. The Barber brainwashing in full flow.

...not to mention the club wanting to actually know who is in each seat so that unacceptable behaviour such as racist or homophobic abuse can be dealt with easily by immediately identifying and reporting the culprits.

Don’t think that is the case seeing as season tickets guest seats are in the season ticket holder’s name and most matches someone with a fan number can buy 2 tickets in their own name. Unless they think that fan wants 2 seats to spread out in?

I guess that still means guest tickets are linked to the ST holder or fan number and if there are any 'issues' the club can go straight to the ST holder and identify who had the guest tickets.

As opposed to if a season ticket holder passes their ticket to a colleague and the club can go straight to them?

It’s not wonderful I guess for anyone that there are empty seats. I saw them pretty clearly on TV yesterday as I was too ill to be there in person. I expect some frustration with being able to pass on tickets doesn’t help there.
But overall it is pretty wonderful being a fan of the Albion , fans are looked after, the club is doing well and run well. If that makes me brainwashed then it’s probably all the ibuprofen I’m gobbling at the moment.

It annoys me that your average fan believes that bullshit because the club said it. It’s utter nonsense - even upgrading a ticket means it stays in original owners name ffs! I think we get most things right but have really ****ed up on this seasons passing on rules and finances for it. Ridiculous but Barber etc seem too stubborn to do much as contemplate they were wrong. And those defending the club policy I don’t get - surely you’d rather see people in seats if the seat is sold!!

I will reiterate I believe we are the ONLY club who charge to pass on a ticket and charge the person having the ticket a membership fee. You can just pass on tickets at Chelsea, West Ham - Spurs you just re allocate the ticket for free. PB said they all have the price built into their STs - well that’s just nonsense - all small print excuses - we’ve always been able to pass tickets on (don’t give me the illegal line pls anyone as that’s pathetic even though technically true!). All this mandatory covid stuff 1st Oct - never happened - were just guessing the government. They’ve particularly ****ed up by the member fee for those going - the £20 most could just about swallow. Some take several non football fans to games if a friend can’t go - for free - and they may even come back and buy a ticket. It’s absolutely piss poor - end of!

Just reading this thread, I am a member this season (previously STH). There is a game coming up for which I have 2 tickets but I can’t now go. My sister and brother in law are happy to use them, I probably won’t charge them, but now I’m not sure if giving them these tickets is problem for them and for me? If I ask the club about it, will they just tell me it’s not possible or charge me for it to be possible? As someone else said, getting them along might encourage them to go on another occasion so it’s win win, but is it allowed?

I did see yesterday that the odd person was selected to provide ID such as passport and driving licence but I don’t know what would happen if that ID doesn’t match the name on the ticket?

Any thoughts appreciated.

The ID check is against the covid pass, not the name on the ticket. If you have print-at-home tickets, they’ll almost certainly be fine - names aren’t checked.

I've been checked at most games this season.
The 'check' is ID and Covid passport.
Not looked at the ticket at all.

To be honest I am surprised we have so many attending as COVID has not gone away the numbers including hospitalisations & deaths are increasing and the game is on TV.

My single ticket is up for sale as have the previous 4, none have sold despite being in a good location.

I am not going to go with the COVID levels as they are as my wife has no immune system.

I found myself annoyed yesterday at the number of people around who were not wearing masks when, as far as I was concerned, they should have been.

I was going to say “disconcerted”, but it was actually annoyance. I’m not sure whether to put it down to bravado (I’m not frightened of it), selfishness (not realising it is to protect OTHER PEOPLE from you, forgetfulness, laziness or just foolhardiness. But infection levels are the highest they have been for months,

Thanks. They are actually mobile tickets - not sure if they can download onto their phones or if I would have to lend them my phone? The tickets haven’t been downloaded yet, I just have the link on an email.

People have given up, and it’s gone too far to be enforced unless it becomes a legal requirement with penalties for the event hosts (ie club) Public transport is arguably worse…..last week in London, despite very regular announcements and loads of posters confirming masks were (legally) required, I’d guess about 20% were wearing them at best.

Don’t know if you can transfer a matchday ticket…….but if you’re prepared to hand over your phone that would work
