In an hour our home record will be won 2 drawn 1 lost 7. How on god's earth is that acceptable? And guess what - we have 3rd place Colchester coming up next. Well you may as well change the 7 to an 8 now. Heads need to roll BIG TIME.

And that's just this season. Last years was abysmal too. The season before, barely better. I'd take relegation if we could move to Falmer tomorrow. Withdean is destroying the club on the pitch as well as off it seems.

That is absolutely selfless playing out of position Sir Douglas Loft. I salute you. I think we need a back five if Im sweeper tho

I'm not fussed about what side i play, i'm easy.

Very true, however if they only play one up top then we should have the 4 at the back, as previously said. So if they play two up top, then still left back/right back and two centre backs needed.

Only a small donation required.

I'll happily play CB.

I haven't played for nearly 25 years now, and I had major heart surgery last year, and I guess I'm carrying a bit too much timber round the midriff.

But that probably stands me in good stead alongside the current bunch....!!

Why didn't Gus sign a experienced centre back last Thursday, is beyond me. Because we haven't got leader, like Charlton have in Christian Daily. January is going to be a MASSIVE month in terms of signings, because we'll going down at this rate.

I find reading these extremities superb. I'll bounce this thread in a couple of months when the same players (albeit with Kuipers in goal instead of Smith) are solid and not conceeding many as a team. It'll happen, Elphick and Tunnicliffe are going to form a partnership with Whing or Hoyte at right back and McNulty at left back. That defensive 4 will settle down and learn to play together, and we'll have a quality defence. We might get taken apart by a good attacking side everynow and then, but in general we'll have a solid defensive unit and we'll be better for it. All you moaners now are plenty of ammunition, but it won't always be like that. When Mauricio Taricco has worked his genius with them, we'll be solid.

All this talk of "an experienced centre half" is nonsense to me, you're just romanticising a solution. You seem to think someone experienced will come in and we'll be fine, but it doesn't work like that. I don't see the need for one, personally, I think our current crop are good enough and we have too many centre backs as it is. Just a thought, is El-Abd not an experienced centre back? Are you gents suggesting he might be the answer?

Can we all agree to stop calling our defence a "defence"? Makes me cringe because they're not really - are they?

We could refer to them as "Bollards"? Bit more apt perhaps?

I would try Dicker at cb, he seems to read the game better than anyone playing there at the moment, did he play there for Stockport at all?

Two experienced centre-backs as well - our home record in particular is fast becoming an absolute joke.

It is harsh by TCB is passionate. Nothing wrong with that.

Wishing that 2 of our players would f*** off and die slowly does not show 'passion' it simply shows the author up as a dickhead.

yep, tonight was poor, but lets put it in perspective, none of the players actually want to be getting beaten every game, and Leeds, Norwich and Charlton have been spanking teams left right and center all season.

To be fair TCB, El Abd has been the BEST defender for the last few games, it doesnt say alot granted but I cant recall him making any mistakes in the Saints, Wycombe, Norwich and Charlton games and I think he as very unlucky to come off today.

Lets not forget he isnt a Left-Back either.
