i like grounds that make an effort to blend in, or add to
Well the nearest thing to the stadium is a University and a big arse A road. How do you blend in to that?

i was referring to this bit;
That pic is outdated due to the arch.
heres another snaily type photo of a stadium
But it isn't being built on that bit.
but that is the wider backdrop of the stadium, as relevant as the road or university, people forget that if you actually turn around at falmer, it is/was a very beautiful place.

Being a bit selective aren't you?
Go immediately to the northern side of the site, and the sea of green peters out somewhat.
Southend's have ground to a hault:yahoo:
i was at the galpharm (mcalpine) stadium the other day and even at 15 years old it is one of the most impressive pieces of contemporary architecture in the country.
it won the RIBA building of the year in 1995, and today still looks stunning.
it is sad how football continues to snub aesthetic qualities to improve their own business case ... across the board from club branding, new logos, stadiums and kit design - it's generally shite.
i was sad when the new plans for falmer weren't as impressive as the originals, and it won't be the new 'wow' stadium in the country (hudds will hold onto that for a long time, with the emirates, wembley and the stunning city of manchester all running close), but at least it's a bit special, with the transparent roofing sure to be it's most impressive feature.
Haven't Brentford been talking about a new ground for several years now? One that was going to be accessible by monorail I remember reading.
