Pretty decent for a CB who didn't play one single first team game for the club and with only 1 year left on his contract.

Indeed. Seems to be a fantastic defender though, albeit without the passing, possession and attacking game of PvH or even Clarke. What would his value be if he had 4 years on his contract?

Presumably as soon as he signs for Napoli, they can sell Koulibali to Chelsea. How exciting that we are involved in such big club trading machinations.

Incredibly, they are negotiating the £k's with us and no doubt adding the £m's onto his value before finalising with Chelsea

I think he cost us £100K and most if not all his salary will have been covered when out on loan so all-in-all a good deal

You're not kidding - swapping their old 31 year old CB for a brand new shiny younger one and trousering £25M profit on the way! Amazing business or amazing cheek?

Andy Naylor saying on Twitter that the deal for Ostigard with add ons achieved will be £10m. If that’s true we’ve done well there.

Fantastic but I imagine that a lot of the deal is made up of add-one. He’ll probably need 50 Norway caps etc.

Yes... like Norwegian media said a month ago.

Champions League qualification is usually the key to triggering a lot of add-ons as it has a lot of impact on the overall finances of a club.

Qualification for and progression in European competition isn’t beyond Napoli so a decent chance of some bonuses being achieved

It must be a full time job managing and tracking the add ons from your sold players - literally hundred of them or more to stick into an Excel !

Surely it will be announced today because Chelsea have just signed Koulibaly from Napoli?
Medical on Monday is suggested by Twitter Not-In-The-Knows.

Why they have to wait until Monday is unclear.

On the face of it we’ve done well but if he turns out to be a £40m in a couple of years have we?
Think we might have rather brought him into the squad with a view to easing him into the team but don’t think he was prepared to sit on the bench waiting for his opportunity with us.

Depends how big the sell-on clause is.
And, yes, I think we've done well out of this. We're not going to eke out the maximum for every single player and sell them at the optimal time but, on the whole, our transfer activity has been excellent over the past three years.
