Nothing - he’s not been playing and a new loan will be arranged

What does this mean for dunky ?

Nothing other than he has a bit more back-up for when he is injured.

A more pertinent question would be; what does Östigard’s recall mean for Roberts and Băluță who are both marked down as first team squad centre backs on the club website?

Both to be loaned out?

We need him for the FA Cup. I rate him too.

Roberts might be considered as an answer to Stoke's quest for a left sided CB?

He said this summer and also in the spring that he wants to be where he is guaranteed to be a starting player which is too bad because no top league club is going to be able to guarantee that, so I guess another Championship loan will be up next.

Roberts is probably going to be loaned out if a Championship club is interested. Potter indicated this a few weeks ago.

Baluta is a result of collective imagination and does not exist.

O’Neill teams aren’t known for playing good football so I don’t think Ostigard suited their style. That’s probably why donkeys like Chester and Batth have been picked over him.

Hopefully we’ll be more considered over where he is sent next so he can thrive like Van Hecke and Khadra are at Blackburn.

Would make sense, although Roberts has been making the bench quite a bit lately, he has yet to be used, so could definately do with some game time regularly in senior football now.

This is Stoke we are talking about, when were they last known for playing flowing football? Surprised the Albion heirachy hadn't worked that out before they approved it really.

Probably would make sense - but whether we'd want to lend a player to a club that's just dropped one of our loanees is another matter!

Amazingly, there are some bonkers Stoke fans who think we are recalling him because we're in difficulties at CB and need to recall a player who can't even hold down a place at Stoke! (although, TBF, many are wondering just why O'Neil has suddenly decided he doesn't fancy him)

I watched West Brom vs derby the other day and Clarke seems a cracking centre back!

That’s really not that bonkers, tbh.

We are stretched. Webster for example, really shouldn’t be playing three times in a week, so soon.

Sure, but everyone is expected to be back within a month and then, if Östigård would play against Everton that means he makes one or two appearances and then he cant be loaned out again while spending the spring watching Dunk, Webster, Duffy, Veltman or Burn play instead.. not optimal for him and his development and potentially little gain for Brighton.
