Just a thought but could we be cashing in on him as he’s said he wants to start and has failed to do so in the Champ. Short contract that’s been eeked out a couple times with extensions. With a stacked first team when fit, plus Roberts, now Van Hecke likely ahead of both and some other talent in the youth team it might be a case of selling a very decent CB just like we had to do with Clarke. Or back in the day two solid pros to BMuff who went on to good careers just that we couldn’t fit them in.

We haven't sold Clarke.

Not yet anyway, though I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up bring sold/released, never having played for us.

I would agree with the line of logic that we should not be adding Ostigard to the squad for his development if Covid weren't a factor. We'll have to get used to more absences and disruption for the rest of the season and will need more players than we usually would to deal with that.

GP is right. More bodies needed

Someone on the forum indicated they’d spent 2 million on a defender who can only play on the right. Same as Leo, so they’ve dropped Leo for him.

I watched West Brom vs derby the other day and Clarke seems a cracking centre back!

Yes indeed, Matt Clarke seems to be something of a forgotten man amongst all this. Starting to carve quite a success for himself as a Brighton player, whilst playing for other clubs!

With all the talent at our fingertips now re centre back positions, it's hard to ever see him wearing an Albion shirt though. Would the other Albion be interested in signing him permanantly l wonder?

Half season loan to Genoa now confirmed - fabulous move for the young man, and a considerable upgrade on Stoke. Well done all round.

Hope he's a great success there.

Really can't see much of a difference between the two places to be honest.

Unfair comparison. Genoa picture should also have been taken on a wetTuesday evening!

It is a fair comparison, they are both taken on what the locals consider a sunny day. Do they even do wet Tuesday evenings in Genoa?
