Of course they're supposed to be like that, but psychology isn't an exact science, and it's not difficult for an interviewee to just play a role.

Is it not difficult? I really don't know. My sense of feeling would be that a good psychologist would be prepared for whatever roles / games a person might be playing which might even reveal more about their character.

I don't suppose you've ever had to fill out a personality test for work? If you were a narcissist and didn't want to come across as one, you could easily consider what a better version of yourself would say.

They can try, but even when everyone tells the truth it's a nightmare for them to interpret the results. It's pretty difficult filling them in, because often you're caught between two answers and you just have to pick one - if you filled it in on another day you'd give different answers, even when being honest.

Nel has been cross examining this Prof of sports and exercise medicine who gave testimony regarding the fight or flight response in Oscar. Nel has been winding him up and tying him in knots which has been quite interesting, but the most interesting thing was that when Nel asked him something like "if Mr Pistorius is walking down the passage with a gun held out in front of him, as part of the fight response, would you expect him to shoot?", this guy answered "yes". Nel then said something like "you would expect him to deliberately shoot?", the answer came back as "yes". Another brilliant defence witness!

Court adjourned now until Monday. Nel wants to consult with one of the psychiatrists that assessed Oscar, before finished cross examination of this witness. So on we drag into another week.

As murder accused Oscar Pistorius left a Sandton nightclub after a shoving match with another clubber, some of the crowd shouted “F*** off, you’re going to jail!”, City Press reports.

http://www.herald.co.zw/patrons-taunt-pistorious/

So basically he has been clubbing

Further on in the same article, on hearing that Oscar is alleged to have said "Zuma works for us. I'll p*ss on Zuma" at the club, Oscar's family is reported as commenting "“Oscar was at school with one of President Zuma’s sons and liked him a lot."" That's awfully close to "His best mate is black"...

It's pretty clear that he's a deeply unpleasant man at least, a deeply unpleasant murderer at worst.

Indeed and he has proved here that he easily loses his temper. Any normal person who "accidently killed their partner" would accept critisism, but he is unable to even grasp this notion.

This has gone on for so long with so much misdirection from his defense, we could almost be forgiven for forgetting that some innocent person tragically lost their life.

As Gerrie Nel has kept on saying “It is all about Oscar” and not Reeva.

Apparently the Judge is not available next week, so they are trying to get closing arguments done and dusted today. Nel has finished, Roux is going through the defence now. I believe that Nel can reply on matters of law if the Judge allows him to.

So with a bit of luck, the Judge and her assistants will retire today to consider their verdicts. The interesting thing today will be how Roux explains the shooting because Nel made it very clear yesterday that in his interpretation of the law, Oscar is guilty of murder no matter what as there was no perceived immediate threat to his life - all the rest of what happened before and after is not really relevant, other than the fact that Oscar armed himself showing an element of pre-planning.

Roux is currently making his closing statement as a personal attack on Nel himself and how he's undertaken the case. Last throw of the dice to completely discredit the prosecutor. Roux treading a fine line of looking incredibly arrogant in his delivery...

Rather odd considering Roux has never won a case against Nel. At least I do not think he has.

This timeline thing is very tedious and, ultimately, pointless in my view. What he did after he shot her is not relevant to his guilt surely? Or is Roux just trying to discredit witnesses?

This has been my take all along. He's guilty of murder either way - all that is in doubt is whether he knew WHO he was murdering.

It has been dragged out to make us forget, through boredom, that Reeva had her life taken away and is the real victim.

There have been cases of innocent people being killed after being mistaken for an intruder, but not under circumstances like this. There is no way that Reeva would not have responded verbally with an “it’s ok it’s only me” when Oscar was screaming his head off. They can argue the minute details and discredit witnesses and experts for the next hundred years but the fact remains thats Oscars story just doesn't make sense.

So that's it. Court returns on Sept. 11th for the judgement.

Not sure there has been any OJ glove moment here. OP's defence is still all over the place. Roux while trying to discredit the prosecution case, doesn't really seem to have helped the defence either.

You'd have to be gobsmacked if OP isn't convicted on all counts in September.
