The "Othello Syndrome" seems to be a snug fit in this case, although he would have to admit to extreme jealousy to pull it off.

I may have heard it wrong, but this morning on the news they were talking about this:

If all 3 independent assessors say he is not mentally fit either now or at the time of the killing a Not Guilty verdict will be recorded and he spends the rest of his life in a Mental Health institution.

Thanks. I know some people fake their illness to get lighter sentences like diminished responsibility over here then the Murder charge gets dropped to manslaughter but over there it seems a double wammey. Oscar would rather take his chances in court.

Forgot this was starting up again today, so am not watching.
The six week mental assessment has been dealt with already - he was NOT suffering from a mental disorder at the time of the murder.
Roux is now calling more witnesses, so with a bit of luck, this will be over soon and they can start summing up.

Just got the live feed up. Pistorius was trying to pass a note to his defense and he noticed the judge looking and put it down on his lap and the camera was on the judge who was staring at Pistorius,, what was that about? was Pistorius trying to be sneaky.

Doubt it - he has been passing notes to his defence all the time during the trial.

From what I have read on the news feed, this evidence appears to contradict Oscar's version of events as well.

Court adjourned for day.

Not very exciting - first witness was the chap who amputated Oscar's legs and he was questioned about Oscar's mobility. Second witness called is dealing with noise levels and whether people can differentiate between male and female screams at 177m! Dull stuff by the sounds of it.

The good news is that Barry Roux is believed to have only 1 more witness, so perhaps this will finish tomorrow and then they can get on with closing statements (after a break of course).

WOW!

OP's manager has just said OP's status after London2012 was elevated to worldwide icon, and that the entire Olympic games in 2012 was just about Usain Bolt and Oscar Pistorius!

........and therein lies the truth of the matter. When you and those around you place you above everyone else normal rules of behaviour no longer apply. It's why he will never accept that he did anything wrong.

Court adjourned until tomorrow so that Nel can prepare to cross examine Oscar's manager properly - Nel not told that this would be next witness, so yet more court time lost.

He has asked a few questions of him and Oscar's manager is coming across as evasive and crap at this job. He did not deal with the Oscar "cheat" allegations at the Olympics as he was not there. He did not deal with articles stating that Oscar loved guns and liked to go out shooting in the night if he could not sleep, he did not deal with an incident at the Olympics where it was alleged that Oscar's roommate asked to change rooms as Oscar was arguing on his phone all the time. Interestingly, the answer he gave to Roux as to why it was being arranged that Reeva go to Manchester with Oscar for an athletics meeting was all about Oscar - Reeva needed to see my world, why I can't go to events etc. More me me me me. Oscar seemed to find Nel's cross examination of this amusing.

Nel will tear this guy a new one tomorrow morning. Yet another defence witness that is not helping the defence.

I honestly don't know where this case is going now…….I can only assume viewing figures are high and that enough people are making plenty of money from it.

Am not watching this morning, but sounds like the defence are desperately trying to find anyone who can say anything in support of Oscar, that Nel cannot pull apart. I think this is the last witness now though, thank goodness.

Psychiatric assessment says that he does NOT exhibit narcissism apparently.
I'm not convinced about that phrasing. He may not be a complete narcissist, but the tests won't show how he / one could behave in some other circumstances. I'm sure many a famous person has exhibited some narcissistic traits at one time or another.

I have not seen/heard the direct quote from the report - the live text feed I am following says:

"Roux quotes report saying OP does not exhibit narcissism, linked to abuse relationships and violence towards women".

It would make more sense if it said that he didn't exhibit narcissism during the period he was observed. I expect that he's currently feeling and acting a lot differently than he would have been before he killed Reeva.

The types of questions and interviews they do I assume are a bit like Rick Deckard in that the interviewee is unaware of how their answers would be interpreted in an assessment.

Of course they're supposed to be like that, but psychology isn't an exact science, and it's not difficult for an interviewee to just play a role.
