The Spanish coach's daughter had been struggling for many years with an incurable illness, which had led Garcia several times to be absent from his coaching duties, saying that this was due to personal reasons."

Gutted for him and his family. One of my favourite managers over the past 10 years. Humble and did excellently well with us.

I had had it in my mind there was some sort of character weakness in Garcia, what with his apparent inability to stick with a job, but all along it was strength. RIP.

Sad news. I met him a couple of times when he managed us and he came across as a lovely guy and vary family oriented. Must be heart breaking to lose a child of that age.
