From Balague's website:

Brighton's Chairman Tony Bloom is expected to announce later today that former Maccabi Tel Aviv Manager Oscar Garcia will replace Gus Poyet in the coming season.

Garcia recently left Maccabi Tel Aviv after leading them to the Israeli League title. He cited "personal reasons" for his decision to leave.

Poyet was recently dismissed for an alleged breach of contract whilst broadcasting live on BBC3.

Garcia, born in Sabadell, Spain began his career as a midfielder with Barcelona in 1993, making 69 appearances and scoring 21 goals. He played for Spain Under 23s at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, making 4 appearances and scoring twice. He joined Valencia in 1999. In 2000 he switched to Espanyol, before finishing his playing career with a season at Lleida, making 23 appearances and scoring three times. In 2009 he joined the Catalonia national team as assistant coach to Johan Cruyff before taking over the management of the Barcelona Youth Team in 2010. He succeeded caretaker manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Nir Levine, in May 2012.

News of the appointment was broken by Guillem Balague on Twitter this morning.

Orlandi’s goal against Blackpool will now be the norm for us. I have visions of lumbering Championship midfielders and defenders chasing shadows as our flairmeisters run rings round them.

They were last season its just we missed a man to put the ball in the net until Ulloa turned up.

It's a nightmare isn't it?

The problem is once he has signed we can start the transfer speculation!

Will he be enough to tempt Michael Owen out of retirement for a glorious swansong in the Championship.

Nope, not a word of English.

It was even posted in this thread, so you wouldn't have had to look that hard. Of course, it conflicts with your "only-English-need-apply" agenda so I'm sure you very conveniently ignored it.

Gus had been here for about 30 years and still couldn't speak the lingo...

Exactly, wild speculation I can deal with - imminent/pending I can't....... oh the drama !

Was it? This thread is already a month old.

Not my words, but the words of...Guillem Balague. But I take your point. I'm sure he's talked about it hinself before today. The only new piece of information in my post was the speculation that "Brighton's Chairman Tony Bloom is expected to announce later today..", but I included the whole thing for completeness.
