After all the speculation about Harry, Kenny Jackett, etc I'm warming to the idea of looking a bit further off the rather predictable UK piste for a young-ish continental manager with a very decent CV as a player and who has proved himself on the coaching team of a stellar Club that just happens to play our sort of footie.

This Oscar bloke seems to fit the bill, especially with his background in charge of the academy at Barca so would be a good man to kick off our new training complex?

More importantly he could intrigue some of our players like Bridders who might otherwise have been wondering where we are going. Plus he would be handy for the Spanish contingent? He should have huge knowledge of talented players from La Liga etc who might fancy getting on the Oscar bus at The Amex.

OK he may have to learn a bit about the Championship but it's only Yeovil and co, so not rocket science and why shouldn't we tear it up. Over to you Tony....

It really depends what the 'personal reasons' are. If they're that he's been contacted by an ambitious Championship club and wants to test his skills in England, then we're in business. If he's homesick, it's a family bereavement or similar, then probably a fuss over nothing.

Never mind any credentials, I am not sure I can cope with that chin.

To be fair, England is a lot closer to Spain than Israel, so in every international break (like a lot of our Spanish players do) he could return to Spain for a week or so.

Reported comments dont look great which would be shame. Really want manager situation sorted quickly, need to hit the ground running next season and long delay wont help. No pre season organised yet and no one in place to look to improve the team. Feeling worried

It would appear I may have wasted my bet!

Great, another homesick Spaniard.

Just what we need.

on the other hand - he is not very likely to tell them he is off to manage a decent club in a better league andeven if he wanted to, not sure Bloom would be too keen on him mucking up the whole disciplinary procedure

Any translation on what the tweet was? Something about no 1 choice to replace Gus as Brighton manager ??

Una de las opciones que maneja el Brighton para sustituir a Poyet es Òscar Garcia Junyent

One of the options being looked into by Brighton to replace Poyet is OGJ....

This guy looks PERFECT. Too good to be true? He looks like a tougher meaner version of Gus... and that's EXACTLY what we need.

Someone with no experience of English football, exactly how many times has that worked in the past outside the top league?

Wasn't it you that said that football is simple, put the right players in the right positions etc, and that Poyet made it over complicated?

If that's the case, and football is simple, then surely someone who has played and coached football at Barcelona can coach football anywhere?

What difference does experience of a league actually make? For managers, setting tactics...
