What I know that no-one else knows for FACT is that the CIA only managed to locate Bin Laden due to him recently having an internet connection installed so he could register with NSC and post as a glory-hunting JCL.

Buried at sea; no traceable corpse; let the conspiracy theories begin

Did think that. Despite it being a surprisingly sensitive move by the Americans, disposing of the body in line with Islamic tradition, there's bound to be some nutters who claim he wasn't killed, he died ten years ago, 9/11 was carried out by Aliens and the moon landing was filmed in a basement somewhere.

Good news.

- Hundreds of people gathered outside the White House before midnight to celebrate, singing The Star Spangled Banner and chanting "USA, USA"

oh dear, how embarrassing

i think the US "celebrations" are partly out of a lack of humility but largely because it was announced at kicking out time.

burial at sea prevents some sort of shine being possible. conspiracist will make something out of any action, they wouldnt believe that he's dead if they saw the body first hand, thnking it was a lookalike or such.

Walked past times square 20 min ago. More than 100s of people with flags chanting "u.s.a" and "2 in the head and 1 in the neck" and "navy seals" etc. Perhaps some people in this city can find peace now.

Fair play to New Yorkers, they know where their heart and loyalties lies
I believe the usual convention is 2 in the body and 1 in the head.

Amateurs.

Great news. :)

Osama said himself that Al Qaeda followers only support a strong horse and not a weak horse. Vigilance in the months ahead is needed though.

A minute's silence at Kenilworth Road before Luton's Conference Play-off match against Wrexham?

I can understand them celebrating, although being British I'd obviously feel like doing so in a more reserved way, rather than chanting "USA, USA, USA" like our hockey team had just scored. I didn't mind the 'no surrender to the IRA' songs at football grounds in the 80, but if we'd shot one of their leaders and the public were singing 'Engerland, Engerland, Engerland' in Trafalgar square, I'd have to walk off in embarrassment.
