Been to Plymouth 3 or 4 times now, by car each time. Far from a "hellish" journey though Gully - in fact, I've always found it quite enjoyable. Some great countryside scenary, good pubs, picturesque villages and all that. Nowhere near as dull as the usual motorway stuff.

Pity this match isn't a bit later on in the year when the weathers more decent - I went last season in August 2003 on a scorching day (the 3-3 I think) and it was a bloody marvellous day out.

train is about £60 from london and takes about 5 hours. Flight from Gatwick £40 each way and takes about an hour. Will be landing at 13:50 and taking off 17:45. No contest

I'm going to both Stoke and Plymouth.

What would I do instead? Stay in bed? :jester:

Yeah its each way which is what I said above - looking on the site now though the flights to Plymouth have gone up to £80 odd so I presume there's not many seats left. Booked mine last week when the fares were cheaper

Here's the station:

"Plymouth railway station is about one and a half miles away, so either grab a cab (£3) or embark on the 25 minute walk. As you come out of the station turn right and down the hill and under the railway bridge. Just keep walking straight along this road and you will soon see the floodlights of the ground in the distance. "

I thought 700 for a game that's a couple of weeks away is pretty good. They've only given us 1,100 tickets, they will all go. Be nice if they did make it pay on gate, I could probably drag a few Torquay neutrals along.

Best way to get to Plymouth is : - take the m27 m3 a34 a303 m5/a38 to plymouth and come back along the coast road A38 a30/a303 turn off at Honiton onto a35

I do it every two weeks for home games - the coast road is slow during the day but at night you can bomb along.

See ya all down here - nice not to have to travel for once

Had a great time at Plymouth last season, even though we threw away a 2 goal lead. Camped on Dartmoor (oooh, Brighton fans 'camping' on Dartmoor - cue amusing comments from the Palace scum) and drank far too much Bitter at Princetown - the site of Dartmoor Prison.

Great stuff. Alas, cannot make it this year, and wouldn't fancy camping on Dartmoor at the moment anyhow!

My favourite away trip - I forgot to buy a ticket until this week so I'm glad they didn't sell out quickly.

Any idea how many we'll take to Coventry? It's the last opportunity for me to visit Highfield Road (one of only 18 grounds not been to)

Don't know how many to Coventry, reckon we might get 1500 or so, possibly as many as 2000. Will probably end up going in the home end for this one as I will be staying up there for the weekend and going with a group who are mainly Cov fans, not totally keen on the idea as I won't be able to join in the singing, but it should be a laugh anyway.
