If we hope to be in the Championship when we move to Falmer, then I think we should be looking for players FROM the Championship, not from under it.

you say that but players like Boyd McLean and Mackail-Smith at Peterborough all came from lower leagues there are stars to be had if you know what you are looking for.
Tomlin at Rushden fits the bill in this category but he is being courted by a couple of Championship clubs according to Rushden.
As for Fon Williams i know for a fact that Stockport see him as worth up to a million pounds, I really think Jimmy Walker from spurs is our target. We tried to get him before the close of the loan window but Cudicini had that accident. However if Harry signs James from Pompy i think there is a good chance walker would become available.
Matt Lawrence from Palace is a good option at the back as he is 35 experienced Burgess Hill based and not getting a game.
Monkhouse's deal at Hartlepool only takes him to the end of the season and at 30 i think the offer of a longer deal in a volitile football market may well appeal. Hartlepool arent financially well off as shown by the sale of Boyd in the summer who was arguably their best player.
what i love is the fact that none of us actually have a clue who the Albion are going to sign, its just a tiny bit exciting!

Mickey Demetriou, now at Bognor Regis, who have chosen to play him in the centre of defence as he used to play at LB before switching to midfeild/up front. However if a bigger club comes they will agree to let him go. IMO a talent being wasted at a sinking ship.
We've also got 3 players who had trials at hoddle's academy in spain; However one turned it down not wanting to move abroad, one who hoddle himself said could play league 1/2 level broke his leg 3 weeks ago and is out for the rest of the season, and the other has his trial next friday.
