looks like whingy could be on his way out on loan and with his contract up at the end of the season and little chance of getting near the first team here he will be looking for somewhere that will offer him a chance of a permanent deal.

Whing weighs up his options From The Argus)

I'm not sure that following Slade to Orient would be a good move but good luck to him whatever he chooses. I think if OGH hadn't already filled the "old pro/good example" role that Gus seems to favour, Whing might have earned himself an extension as a model to the youngsters coming through

A very good pro but not likely to get a game here now, Orient on loan would be a good move for all concerned.

It would seem to leave us with just el Abd as experienced cover at right back and that would take a lot out of our game going forward. Or would we go out for a loan player if Calderon were to be injured/suspended?

Andrew Whing, another example of how NSC can be totally blinded into thinking that a player is actually good. Some of the rows on here when some dared to question his ability were brilliant. Must be said similar to the Sandaza and Holyroyd rows.

Facts are , time has proved that he isnt that much cop

Whingy is a good lad, and an 'honest pro'.

Trouble is, we've advanced so far, in such a short space of time, that a player with his attributes is no longer required.

He'll do a great job for someone

I disagree, he certainly is no Calderon, but he was outstanding a few seasons back when he won player of the season, and rightly so. However, comparing him to the defence we have today, there would be no way for Whing to get into the starting eleven, unless there were about three injuries to the back four.

He would fit in well at Orient, along with Slade, as I feel he's a player who would be decent at the lower end of League One.

Good luck to him.

He wasn't though, he cost us so many goals that season and couldnt pass for toffee.

He just was a bit of a hero due to his effort

Sandaza?

What the chap who hasn't had a real chance to prove anything yet? Clearlt not fit after problems last year and an interrupted pre-season.

Without wanting to sound too condescending, there was some nice link-up play from Whingy in a few of the reserve team clips. Could definitely do a very decent job in League Two.

I was about to say, he has looked pretty decent in the reserves and pre-season games, not that that's saying much.

Still think he'll do well at Orient or another lower table L1 side.

Player of the season not so long ago, I'm sure a lot of the people who voted for him don't read NSC so looks like you're making assumptions that have little basis.

with McGleish, Mpoku and Tehou out injured that should help to resolve their problems in attack.

What are the odds on Whing scoring against Rochdale on debut?
