No, I agree. But that's not the point.

I am 'channeling' the Dildo Brothers. Their ambitions are now different from during the Upton Park era (now they are awash with cash, in part due to their being effectively given a massive stadium for next to nothing). I mean, do they really look like CH kinda guys? ???

Saints next 6 up to xmas.

Better run of games than us. Be interesting to see where they are in comparison to us on xmas day.

Look doomed but a couple results changes everything

Arsenal A
Watford H
Norwich H
Newcastle A
West Ham H
Villa A

Although Southampton beating a few of those also helps us.

Looking at it from a Southampton fans view I would be in favour of bringing him in but looking at from our angle I wouldnt as he would possibly pull them out of relegation trouble and thus increasing our chances. From his point of view it is a job at a Premier club and we are in the past, as per Newcastle and Norwich, and he must be concerned with the present or future.

Somebody makes a suggestion about a former manager of ours in comments section and you start a whole thread on here about about it ?

YES! NSC at it's finest AND most predictable.

Doomed? I wish! Still way over half the season left to play, more than enough time for everything to change.

I think Chris would take the Southampton job if offered. The only thing is with us he had good defenders to work with, but Southampton's are rubbish.

Did he?

The back four in our last league game before Hughton took over, was Calderon, Halford, Dunk, (Joe) Bennett, with only Aaron Hughes and Adam Chicksen in reserve.

Chris could make them better..

I think he left Lewis Dunk a better player than he found him. Certainly a less reckless defender than he found him.

TBF, Lewis Dunk was 23 years old when Chris Hughton arrived here, and 27 when he left. You'd have to be a dreadful manager, for ANY defender not to become a better all-round player in that particular time-frame.

I'm sure that Hughton taught him plenty, mind - but he would surely have matured in that period whoever the manager. He actually made HUGE progress, in the previous 6 months, under the shambles that was the Hyypia era.
