Is it wrong that I can’t take race walking seriously as a competitive sport? Watching it just feels like I’m watching some kind of surreal comedy sketch - I’m sure it’s very difficult to compete at an Olympic level but it just looks utterly ridiculous as a spectacle.

All very well saying that until you look at the times………..way faster than the very vast majority of people (INCLUDING most club runners) could run the same distance. 1.21 for the 20k and 3.50 for the 50k :eek:

A bronze is brilliant result for Tom there. Those Chinese chaps were off the scale good.

Tom is such a likeable fella.

Also watching the Bledisloe cup. Come on Australia.

I had some sympathy for the German rider……..that was misplaced. Glad she failed.

Madison madness is fascinating……was reading about the women’s race earlier - GB planning/marginal gains at work again - first team to use hi viz helmets to aid identification in the carnage. Simple but effective :)

It's Modern Pentathlon time again.

Saint Boy, the horse of the German rider, has been replaced for today.

As a bit of background info, the horses would normally be ridden twice in both Men's and Women's competitions - a total of 4 runs.

Both of the Women Pentathletes who rode Saint Boy were eliminated yesterday, so it's probably best that it's not involved today.

Update - Equestrian has just finished. All that's left is the laser run at 11:30am.

GB has never won a Men's Modern Pentathlon medal...so far.

Currently GB's Joe Choong in 1st, Jamie Cooke in 9th.

Don't miss it!

Hopefully Choong will be inspired by Kate French's victory, yesterday.

Feared he was going to get taken there, but he had so much left in the tank.

Great performance that had me scaring the dog with my shouting.

Great finish - Joe had obviously held something back for that last 800m.

Nailed his shooting in the last round.

Same….when the Egyptian was in his shoulder I thought he was going to get done, but he just stormed away. Just brilliant.
