As has been said many times before, define a big club? Aston Villa in terms of history, and honours won, are one of the biggest out there.
They've won 2 league cups in the last 40 years - that's it. So by no means can they currently be seen as a big club (same as Spurs really)

In present day terms perhaps not, but historically speaking none are bigger, how many English teams have won a European Cup? Massively supported too.

As l say, there are many definations of the term "big club".
