Not only will Boscagli struggle to win trophies with Brighton, he'll also likely struggle to play any football.

To me it seems like a strange potential signing
Erm not sure about that. Psv won the Dutch title last season and got through to the knock out stages of the champions league. This guy will play, he would be a very shrewd signing.

Hurzeler prefers a back 3.

Olivier Boscagli is left footed, so right footed Dunk can play middle of the 3.

Veltman will join Webster and Igor as a back up.
Don't buy it

That's then another one of the 3 million midfielders / wingers / attackers we have on our books to come out of the side.

I reckon if this bloke is signing, it's as a 3rd / 4th choice centre back, in a 2, with who knows, the odd run out at left back

Unfortunately neither dunk or van hecke are fast enough so maybe they're not safe. If we are seriously aiming for top 6 we might have to be really bold. Regardless, we need better back up than webbo and Igor.

Meanwhile…..

No way back for Boscagli….

“Why Olivier Boscagli absolutely wants to leave PSV: there seems to be no way back for him. See: ed.nl/psv/waarom-oli…”

But he is going to ‘play nicely.’

“It's not a party at PSV for a while. Boscagli has no desire to leave, but more or less a demand to leave. He wants to go to Brighton. All the background information in the ED article. He will continue to train/play.”

These aren't the players you're looking for.

There's a slight ambiguity in that quote which doesn't reflect how strongly he wants to join us.

It actually translates as, he doesn't wish to leave, he demands to leave.

Just watched a couple of his highlight reels. Not much wiser as to his defensive prowess but he looks very cultured for a centre half

So you've given us Minteh, Wieffer, Rutter, Gruda, O'Riley, Yalcouye, Osman, Cozier-Duberry and Kadioglu.

But what has happened to our left-sided defender? Where the hell is he?
Can someone get it sorted instead of sitting back and thinking you'll take a couple of cheeky days off to be with the family over the bank holiday weekend.

PSV are supposedly unimpressed with our first bid of €8m +€2m in bonuses. They want €20m. They also rumoured to offer him a huge contract to stay but he’s desperate to move.

I don’t think this one is happening.

If he doesn’t come in this window he can sign a pre-contract in January and come for free next summer.
Puts PSV in a difficult position if he’s indicating that he won’t discuss a new contract.
I think there’s a deal to be done.

They've offered him a huge contract, sure, but he hasn't signed it and he's only got a year left on his current deal.
