We didn't sign Norwood instead of Pritchard. We wanted to sign both.

Well if we wanted both or not I am happy with Norwood and I think Pritchard was a bit of a gamble. I hope now the club concentrate on bringing in a good striker and centre back then I think it will be job done for this summer.

Yes. PS: Its not IF. They are 2 very different players. Negotiations with both were taking place at the same time.

Solly March as number 10 when he returns? Bar a 4th CB, I think we've got our squad now
We have a squad of 25 ( 26 with a new CB ). This includes GK player-coach Ankergren.

With Holla and Elvis possibly going, that leaves 24 players.

With no emergency loans, that is a very risky squad size if we are aiming for promotion.

I actually think Norwood replaces Holla, meaning we still need

a CB
a striker
a replacement for Elvis if he goes

giving a much more sensible squad size of 26.

Just seen a photo. An arm covered in tattoos. Do not like. Clearly of low intelligence, but I guess that does not matter if he's good a footy.

OK let me make myself clearer then. I am happy we signed Norwood with all his experience and not unhappy we failed to sign Pritchard for such a huge sum for our club, who has had one decent season and suffered a bad injury. So in my mind Pritchard was a gamble.

I feel sorry for Norwood having signed on the same day as Pritchard decided to be mercenary. It's overshadowed his signing. I hope he turns out to be a decent replacement for Crofts.

So thought you'd like to know what my Reading friend says about him.....

'Devastated to see him go. Best player last season- great as a quarterback picking out wide players from a deep position. Can defend too. Only criticism is he depends on confidence and can go through a low period'

I know in a poor Reading side, but hopeful a great squad addition. This means no Ince on Saturday....
Sounds perfect then. Sitting deep and PINGING balls to our handful of consummate wingers. [emoji106]

Probably saying goodbye to Holla and Ince

Pleased we've managed to clear a good chunk of the deadwood. A few stranglers left to deal with. If Pritchard was going to take the Baldock spot perhaps he's off too?

I would think Baldock & Pritchard would be competing for same place in starting 11, but would be shocked if Baldock was sold unless we signed 2 more similar strikers. We will want 2 players for every position.

Tremendous signing. Thrilled to bits that we now have quite possibly the strongest midfield in the league.

If we manage to keep both Kayal and Stephens then the Norwood signing shows clear intent. Aside from last season, Albion's Achilles Heel in the Championship has been a decent team but an average squad. Replacements haven't been up to standard when injuries and suspensions have taken their toll. I know you can't technically have a team of 18 first teamers but in principle this is what the Albion will need for promotion. Norwood is most definitely a first team player, even if he doesn't feature every game. Good signing.

We dropped point last season when Stephens and/or Kayal were out. Now we have Sidwell and Norwood we are much, much stronger. Great signing, happy with that.

Just a centre back and a striker to go. I wonder if Towell is going to be a number 10 option?
