I have the Albion book by John Vinicombe with the full 1977-78 squad photo but I see no knob of Michael Ring!

Clearly visible in my photo.
Maybe it got airbrushed.LOL.

It was a big thing at the time.

In post #56 (clicketh here to see it in a pop out window), some players have 'British Caledonian' as the sponsor and others have 'British Caledonian Airways' - why is this? Did players wear a mix of the two during the season or did different players carry slightly different sponsors during the same match?

Ian was you from derby or somewhere up that way and you played in midfield ?

I don't think we had Airways on the shirts as a norm. There were very strick rules about the amount of area any sponsor's logo could cover.

Then & now, did you work at Dentsply at some time?

I was in the export dept, weren't you with that miserable bugger Wiles, young Mr bates and the even younger Shaun? Actually Shaun saw me in the Star a couple of months back and recognised me, after all these years.

Audry, one of Wile's babes is still around and doesn't look a day older....I'll not finish that sentance!

All from memory but reckon it's right. Freddie Goodwin's team and an early fav of mine, especially Kit Napier and Alex Dawson.
