And who remembers these cheeky japesters from 1987-88?

(by the way, if anyone has any colour photos of the Albion squad - perhaps from an away programme - from 1992-93 to 1995-96 - please get in touch!)

Again I can name many of the obscure players in this picture, however I am struggling with the guy to the right of George Aitkin, the Ginger lad and who is the lad on the left shoulder of Mike Ring ( Wayne Orton ?? ) surely not !!!

Whoa that's blast from the past!

I used to play football as a kid with Wayne Orton for Wick Dynamoes.

I don't think it's him, although my memory (or sight come to that!) ain't what it used to be.

I'm seem to recall he went off to play pro footie in Scandanavia.

No-one has the team photo which included Dean Saunders' little soldier having a look out from his shorts then?

Is this the one?

I'm behind you!
I was fishing yesterday wearing an Albion t shirt, and this old chap came up and said he used to play for us back in the fifties. His name was Steve Burtenshaw. Nice bloke he was too. Had a good chat.

Any oldies (older than me anyway) on here that remember him?

Steve still scouts for Arsenal. He was a very polished right-half when he played for us, and then he became a coach with Arsenal.

John 'Rugger' (your signature) is with the CID in Sheffield.

Talking of fringe players, there's a lot of them here! (circa 1979-80)

The ginger lad was tony richardson he came from newcastle was a good player but george & ken didn't much like him so he never got the chances he deserved, the other apprentice next to george was frank mcalear who joined from celtic boys club, peter skouras came over from the states sitting in the middle, between gary stevens and gary williams is dave linstrum he came from dover also howard denton standing next to gerry ryan and the 2 blondes sitiing either side of peter skouras are andy young left side and glen ? the other apprentice on micky rings left shoulder is me

So, then and now, you're Paul Gent?

Thank you for all the background information of the players. Incredible, the knowledge available on NSC.

Here's the answers...
