Aircraft crash in Hove, 1938
This photograph shows an airplane that crashed into a house on the corner of Lyndhurst Road and Holland Road in Hove. The accident took place on 24 January 1938 and this photograph was published by the Brighton and Hove Herald newspaper later that week. What can we see? The plane The pla

Now in case we get nostalgic about the “ good old days “ , I enclose pictures of the poor part of town in Victorian/ Edwardian days. This was in the Carlton Hill area, these streets demolished in the slum clearances and now strand somewhere under the office blocks . When I did my family history I had forebears in Carlton Hill area. One of those women could be my gt.gt. gt grandma, or her neighbours. I do not envy their lot.
