Doesn't matter what they earn though? It seems people expect them to be super-human because they earn millions.

No expect them to be decent at their jobs and they're not.

I think the red card should be a cautionary tale for the England squad. Every time we are unprepared for the strict refereeing. Two feet, missed, never a card in the premier league, but always a card in World Cups.

We are so average at the back. Can someone reassure me that Milner will barely feature in the WC?

Our first choice back 4 is competent enough. We have no depth though. Milner is this generations Heskey. Can do a number of jobs quite well and allows the more creative players to express themselves. I'd be much much more concerned if Smalling or Jones had to play any part.

Good point. Should be a timely reminder for the likes of Wilshere and Rooney.

Good workout that. Learnt much more from that than the Peru game.

May have misheard but didn't they say he might START against Italy?

No need to worry about Wilshere he'll be laying on the pitch crying as usual.

These games mean very little. For the record Italy drew 1-1 at home to Luxembourg this evening.

How did Phil Jones make the squad? He's been woeful all season.

I enjoyed the game. Don't usually in friendlies.

shame about Oxo. His injury looked nasty.

I would definitely ensure that Barkley has some involvement in all of the games in Brazil.
