Of course the ref affected the game it put us 1 up.The problem is we look through our yellow tinted specs you your blue.
I did never feel as though you were going to beat us,always felt comfortable and as though we had the game under control.
That is why this game is so good we all see it so different.
Now who counts the crowd at your place because it looked more then 6000 at the game.

dont forget Nidwa's screamer from 30 yards, that was barely 3 yards away from the net.

there was a number of latics chance's in the 2nd half to be honest so how there was only one on target is beyond me?

6,600 actually and it looked more like 8,000 easy.

think there's something dodgy though going on, alot of clubs seem to be doing it!

we were so much better than you. the penalty might have been harsh but your boys just gave up!!

you were shit, we used it as a training sesion. its as simple as that.

Bolloques totale. Whatever can be said of our team, they certainly didn't give up, and the majority of Latics fans were proud of them today.

Your training ground sessions must be pretty wank if you can only create two chances.

So much better? I don't think so. You didn't play better football and you didn't create better chances. What you did do was get a gift from the 'referee'.

OAPDodge, I never thought that we were going to beat you either, but at 0-0 I didn't think that you looked like scoring.

If Haining had been on the pitch, I honestly believe that we could have got at least a draw. Unfortunately, he was stretchered off with his leg in a brace and we lost 3-1.

gave up???

you obviously werent there or you'll have seen the challenges that were being made by Daz Sheridan mainly

training session, who are you kidding?

you really dont have a clue what your talking about, leave it to those who went, least they have similar opinions to us!

we tried creating chances but lacked the final ball most of the time.

were a very young side and we'll only get better

We scored quite early with the pen which helped us settle.
What about Knights overhead kick that hit the bar ?
If we hadn't got the pen who knows if we would have scored but our two LOAN rangers did look lively and as you said your lad who got carried off,Hope he returns soon, was not around to protect the big No5 who was being pulled around quite a lot by Knight. We got the pen after 20mins ish wasn't it ? with that long left who knows how we would have played.
I was saying how confident I was after we got our gift.

it always looked like a draw before the penalty was given, never expected us to get back. Surprised the younger lads heads didnt drop.

very proud of them indeed, need some after sun on though bloody burnt to a cinder:(

Really pleased with the result.

As for the ref. Yes, he was harsh on Oldham but what comes around goes around. Remember when Rushden got a penalty off us because Cullip put his hand on the guys shoulder! Not to mention some of the stuff last year - Prosser..

I think we deffinatly deserved the win. Oldham never, imo, looked like scoring and their goal should never have been a goal. Awful defending. Hinshelwood, I think, having seen the goal briefly on Sky, was mostly to blame.

Leon took both chances very well.

There's a lot more to come. We didn't play anywhere near our best today.

Bring on Q.P.R.

reminded me of Lourenco for us last year. very similar players.

Will haining, the lad who got carried off is the only defender (who wasnt injured today) to have been a key player at the heart of our defence last year.
Just after the 20ish I think

Livescore.com says

FT Oldham Athletic [1 - 3] Brighton & Hove A.

23' [0 - 1] Henderson (pen.)

44' [0 - 2] Knight

62' [0 - 3] Knight

82' [1 - 3] Murray

i saw a handfull of spitefull late challenges on knight and thats it.
late challenges on Knight????? ???

not much compared to Darren Sheridan getting headbutted by your number 12

Will Haining getting elbowed:nono:

The fact the corner before the penalty wasnt even a corner is what we are trying to say but everyone who went but you seems to understand that now

You scored straight after you hit the bar. The ball bounced out and was cleared before a Brighton player smacked it over the bar. Obviously this was given as a corner.

I'm fully prepared to admit that we didn't really look like scoring, but neither did Brighton before the penalty and I doubt that those two extremely soft goals would have happened with Haining at the back (trying to bring through the other two lads who were making their league debuts).

A comprehensive victory that never looked in doubt.

A good solid start and hopefully we'll get better and better as the season gets going for real.

only 3 yards eh

for me Oldham only looked slightly dangerous when in the last 20 when we were already 3-0 up.

In my view it was an OK display against a pretty weak team. We'll need to get a lot better if we're to beat QPR.
