What a twat of a post, you need shooting pal.Kept this club alive spare me the next pile of tosh.

The club will never survive with you 5000,is that what you want is it,play every game with 5k supporters.:censored:

Such a selfish bunch many of you UNREAL:glare:

But it has had to survive with those 5000 or so for the last 7 seasons whether you like that fact or not...all of the people only going to away games haven't put money into the Albion's coffers. We all know that Falmer will need more bums on seats-which we'll get because people will be able to decide on the day to go and watch the Albion. In the meantime-we're stuck with the club struggling to survive on the income of a venue that holds less than 7000-of which, more than 5000 pay up front every season. Sounds like the cornerstone of survival to me.

You do talk a load of bollocks.

I tend to agree with Lord B this a non-issue - there will be tickets to go around if you apply on day one.

On a general point I also note what Bwian has pointed out - respect to those who follow the Albion away, I rarely do as amongst other things I manage a Saturday morning youth football team - but your money does not go to our Club. It is the season ticket money that keep the club going.

So good on you for investing time and money to see the Albion - and I am sure we are higher up the table as a result, and we all love to see a big away support - but the club can't afford a loan player at the moment - so the emphasis must be on those who financially support the club.

2,000 tickets to Norman Cook then.

Just dream for a moment that the Albion do a Palarse and scrape into the Premiership. When we come to play all the big names at top grounds is the present away ticket priority likely to be any different? So why for a cup match?

There are also some people posting on here that define their level of support by the quantity of cash they put into the club coffers. Not sure this is really a fair benchmark. What about the total cost of supporting your club out of your own pocket e.g. travel costs to away matches and away tickets - isn't this a better "level of commitment" indicator?

Otherwise we will degenerate into "Well, I sing louder than you so I should get a Spurs ticket ahead of you" ... playground banter, please NO!

OR

I have this year's replica shirt so I must be more of a suporter than you with your old Sandtex rellic ...... NO! NO and thrice NO!

As a season ticket holder you get a guarunteed seat at 23 games per year and free membership in the AMS.

As a non-season ticket holder you get nothing.

My point being you get what you pay for. Everyone knows Withdean's awful, especially in the rain, but YOU HAVE A CHOICE!! Because you choose to go to these games (paying upfront, thus gaining a per-match discount) gives you no right to expect favours when you choose to follow the Albion away.

EVERY fan loves the club, and would go to ALL matches, home and away if they could. People have lives outside the Albion - work, families, etc and shouldn't be penalised for that by priority tickets going to those who CAN go to ALL home/away games.

Anyway, we'll get 8,000 tickets and will all get them if we get off our collective arses in time.

Rant over.

Can I just tiptoe carefully through this internal blood-letting and ask where the assumption of an away allocation of from 5,000 to 10,000 comes from?
I suspect the FA Cup does have its own away fan rules, separate and different from run-of-the-mill league games, and would appreciate any definitive explanation of them.
But - our next home game is on December 18 against Southampton, who are currently trying to flog their total allocation of 2,055. Next up, ten days later, come Palace, who - as London rivals - have a larger take-up: that is, a whopping 3,500. Charlton recently brought 2,000.
Away fans get allocated between a quarter and a third of the South Stand, which can hold up to 8,500 in its entire-ity - including a Tottenham dominance throughout the central strand behind the goal and the 'Shelf' where the South Stand meets the East Stand.

DISTRIBUTION OF TICKETS

(a) All Rounds Preceding the Semi-Finals

In all matches preceding the Semi-Finals, the Visiting Club shall have the right to claim up to 15% of all accommodation for which tickets are issued providing these tickets are in a fully segregated area, and subject to the following regulations:

(i) The request for tickets shall be made within three days of the draw.

(ii) The tickets allotted to the Visiting Club, if numbered and reserved, must be of equal value to those retained by the Home Club.

(iii) In cases of replayed matches, the Visiting Club must make a request for tickets immediately after the drawn game.

(iv) The Visiting Club shall be responsible for the payment of all tickets asked for and allotted, unless otherwise agreed between the Clubs in writing with a copy sent to The Association. All questions in dispute shall immediately be referred to The Association for resolution by the Council.

(v) The Visiting Club should settle with the Home Club for sales of tickets on or before the day of the match.

(vi) Any tickets not sold by the Visiting Club should be returned to the Home Club with their statement of tickets sales.

(vii) In the Competition Proper, a Visiting Club shall be entitled to one third of the seats usually reserved and known as “Home and Visiting Directors’ Seats” up to a maximum of 24 seats.

(viii) Where disabled facilities are provided, a Visiting Club shall have the right to claim up to 15% of this accommodation.

(ix) Where it is deemed desirable, the Council shall have the right to vary the allocation of tickets to the Visiting Club, or require a match to be made all ticket.

These are the FA Cup rules, therefore we can request up to 5,436 tickets (capacity 36,240)

Fair enough... see y'all in the Gilpin's Bell beforehand then...

(Avoid Rudy's - it's the closest and flashiest bar next to the main entrance, but as tacky and exorbitant as your worst cocky Cockney Premiershite cliche...)

Sussexspur- are we put near that spaceship kind of thing? from memory thats where away fans go. Where else will we be put? better not be the upper tier behind the screen at the back as you cant see some of the pitch from there :dunce: However i assume it will be the upper and lower tier and just a few more blocks?

Spaceship??! Er, you've lost me... Unless that's what transports the likes of Gardner or Naybet to another planet every so often when they should be concentrating on hacking the ball clear...

Away fans always go in the lower and/or upper tiers of the South Stand in the west corner. If true that the allocation will be 5,000 or so rather than the regular 2-3,000, then may well take up pretty much half of the South Stand, on the west side of the goal. Last team I can remember doing this was Chelsea, for a League Cup semi three years ago.
Am all in favour of that - I sit pretty much dead set behind the goal in the South Upper, so enjoy as fervid an atmosphere as possible.
Honestly, though, the Arsenal/Charlton/Bolton/Birmingham supporters have been embarrasingly quiet when visiting this season, so make sure you make some noise, won't you....! :clap2:

5,400 tickets, everyone will get one who wants one providing you apply when the tickets are announced.

Personally I tihnk the current system is prett ymuch the fairest, no priority to anyone if you are an AMS member then you can get a ticket.

Isn't there only about 8000 AMS members? Out of that there must be a good 2000 who no longer go to away games or can't make it leaving 6000 with 5400 tickets pretty much everyone will get one. Providing they don't allow new AMS members to apply for tickets for this game. Therefore the only restriction basically should be is that you have been on record as having attended previous away games.

By the way I am a season ticket holder and do go to a fair few away games as well, before anyone starts throwing things at me.

Thing is I can see the club sayong "no new AMS" to keep the existing customers happy, but then thinking "we'd get a decent wedge of cash if we accept new members!"
Could swing either way on that route!

I honestly don't know why people are getting so worked up about this! There will be PLENTY of tickets for those of you that want to go. Even if we do sell out our allocation (which we will do but not overnight) The home fans are not going to turn up in huge numbers for this so you'll easily get in the home end!

CALM DOWN!
