I did another of their events a couple of years ago - the trailblazer - and had to email them a couple of times until I saw a results list

A race without results isn't a race and whilst for something low-key and local, I don't expect a text to my phone straight after finishing, for £20, I reckon they ought to try a bit harder. Effectively, that's £20 for some water stations.

Not that I'd be troubling the podium positions - just interested to see how my time compared to others.

I'll drop them an email..

Worth accepting results aren't a priority for them but fun events.
You just reminded me that they took so long on the joint event with Brighton Sports the "Weakest Link Relay" in June that I gave up looking. Just found the results. Well done Greg Bobkin, myself, Ninja Elephant and the mystery sub 17 bloke we picked up..but had to finish alongside. We beat some good clubs there Arena, the Vegans etc...... and survive the biggest thunder and lightening with downpour of the summer.

Starting to push myself a bit more in training and ran 10k at an average pace of 7:10 per mile so lined up at Preston Park this morning feeling a 19:45 was attainable.

Fell just short 19:49 by my watch but felt good throughout and in hindsight could have pushed a bit more in the early stages.

Nice to feel like I'm moving forward after a hugely frustrating 4 months, I've got a physio appointment with Jesus Monday evening in preparation for Bright 10 next week.

Also does anyone here take part in Yoga? I'm seriously considering it as I've always been inflexible and I feel this may help me with the tightness of hamstrings.

I did a spell of Bikram or Hot yoga which helped my hammies no end. Then I moved and haven't been able to go!

Once past the smell of cheesy feet and initial queasiness think you'll find it really helps

I incorporate a few yoga stretches into my stretching routine but have never done a session. Wife goes all the time. It certainly links the muscles correctly. For example the hamstrings have counter muscles above the hips that allow them to work properly. Could help big nuts but time consuming. You would need to tell the teacher your issues and they would keep an eye out.

Good running Mr Age Grade Champion of NSC. A good weekend indeed.

If anyone wants to do the, now full, 1066 Way 17 miler next week give me a nod. I can give my race number away as this ****** rheumatism has taken up residency in foot, neck, knee and a finger.

All - a very good running pal of mine has put together a free marathon workshop next week (Thursday13th) in Burgess Hill. I can't make it myself as I am away but I've had a sneak preview of some of the material and it looks fantastic. You don't necessarily need to be planning a marathon, or have already run one to attend - it'll have tons of interesting things and you'll definitely learn a lot. Guinness Boy can also vouch for Jan's expertise if you need it. Would highly recommend going along if you can.

Details here - https://www.facebook.com/events/589958257830916/

Bugger, Jnr Bobkin's birthday and there's no way I'll be able to get there. Sounds good though.

Yes: bloody good result: well done to all.

Cheers, and thanks knocky1 for getting the results. I had a look a few weeks ago, but nothing there then.

I may have to take a one-year sabbatical from Team NSC next year though – there are plans afoot to recreate an awesome foursome from 6th form 20 years ago. We won our relay race – which included a team of competitive t-shirts – after rocking up in our civvies...

Shame your not going to make this. Can I count this as a victory by default? ;-)

Tricky one. It may have to be dragged through the courts. Lucky for me as you would have thrashed me on the day anyway.

Get this every 5-7 years. 6 weeks in and 6 weeks before flying off to the Annapurna. If it doesn't **** off that trip will have to be aborted and even if it has gone, I will be struggling for fitness.

Sorry to hear about the health probs. I've got similar although it's just in my fingers and that's bad enough. Hope it's treatable but sounds as if you just have to live with it when it flares up. It'll be good to hear that you return to running soon........................
