You know it's time to pack it in when you start getting overtaken by the dead - FECK!

I hope there aren't people hoping to use their time to get into Boston next year. If it's not an accredited race they won't accept it and there's no way they'd accept anything other than your official chip time. I'd be royally p***ed off if I missed out on a place by a minute because of this shambles.
Well done on your win, Gaffer. Clean sweep: overall win/category win/AG win. And you top out their old git all time list. OK so the competition was restricted to a couple of 3 legged sheep, but you can only beat whoever turns up!
21.05 at Littlehampton (80.32% AG), getting me 2nd on their very old git all time list. Bit of a breeze, but a fast course - if possibly a tad long. Not Brighton marathon long, though.
Thank you but I came second by 2 minutes. Getting more unfit by the week and the Achilles is now at it’s worst. Time for a break.
Lovely group of people today and really enjoyed it.
Meanwhile you get better and better.
Hope everyone's had a good weekend of running!
It's now taper time for me with 2 weeks to go til London. A little bit of sharpening up and a whole lot of freshening up is in store. Excited to be toe'ing the line with and testing myself alongside (hanging onto) some very classy guys and girls at the big dance around London in 14 days... Long range weather forecast is looking pretty kind at the moment.
This morning's tune for my post-run recovery shakeout at home with my boys had to be this 80's classic from the one hit wonder that was Matthew Wilder!

That’s a great track. Have you got a target time in mind?
hey mate, I'll firm up my target time and plan how to tackle it the week of the race depending on how the next week or so goes, but I'd absolutely love to PB so getting home inside 2:44:37 (from my last marathon outing in 2019). 2 years older and a lack of racing over these Covid times might be against me but I'm going to enjoy trying. I'll need to run inside 2:40 to hold onto my Championship eligibility (they've dropped it down from 2:45 for next year).
The big thing right now is to not get ill and definitely do my best to avoid a positive test result (#washhands) preventing me from making it to the starting line at all. The waves have started up at the schools again now so I'm dreading those lateral flow tests we have to take a few days out from the race.
Great stuff Artie. Hope it all comes good on the day. NSC SPOTY , or all years, award on the line. Has to be your main objective?
I finally have a race result and an entry to put in the table. They set up a 5k race in the ground of the Exhibition Centre in Toronto and invited groups to enter in hourly waves, which were really just separate races through the morning. My Run-TO-Beer running club took over the 11am slot.
It was the most horrible course I've ever run on. 4 laps of a park with some horribly tight turns, one of which I almost had to stop at. I did want to test myself though and see what kind of race shape I'm in having not really done any training during the pandemic. I did go off way too fast with a 3:25 first km and then it was a case of just holding on to a more sensible pace until the end. I finished at a very Albion appropriate time of 19:01, winning my wave and getting first place in my category overall. Almost a minute off my PB but I'm more than happy with that given how horrible the course was and my lack of real training. Also, it's the first time I've crossed the line first.
Can someone calculate my AG % for me? I'm 37. I used the wrong calculator last time.
Well done Badger. I’m away but if no one updates I’ll do it on return next month.
