Are you the 1:20:02 in the 40-49 female category in the results, albeit with a very male sounding name? Oh well, I guess that's Brighton for you...

Hahahahah! I just looked again and yeah that’s me.

When I looked earlier I was thinking 31st as a category position was good.

So, without jumping on any bandwagons, today between 9am and 10:20am I literary identified as female! It didn’t feel any different but it helped my position.

Back to male again now though.

55:15 10 mile record set today for Arena80 by the man they gave on loan to NSC runners 3 years back in the Knocky, Bobkin, Ninja weakest link relay team. We had an inkling he could run then. Still owes me £2.

Evening all. Well done everyone on Bright10 some great times there.

Very happy with Budapest (Hungary) marathon today - finished in 3:57:45 officially which is only a minute or so down on my Brighton time this year- I had quite a few injuries/illness in the buildup so very happy with that.
Fabulous course mainly along the Danube with a really nice shady stretch on the island after about 30k which was very welcome as it’s pretty warm out here - low 20s by the time we finished.
Particularly happy with the consistency of my run as shown on Strava https://strava.app.link/1K9ILC7tPQ I died a bit on the last 3k but apart from that it’s all very even. It was mainly flat except when you had to climb up to the bridges across the river which is some 350m wide.
Budapest is terrific city to visit and I’d highly recommend this if you fancy an overseas marathon.

That's fantastic, well done. Sounds like a lovely run. And well done to the battling duos and everyone else at Bright10. It's a cracking race and I was sorry to miss it. I took myself off over the downs for 10 miles, which took me the same time as my worst Bright10, two years ago - 1hr 30!

Terrific running, well done mate. Those early Sunday group runs paid off in the end.

Morning all. Had a gready day Sunday, nice meeting up to renew my battle with [MENTION=616]Guinness Boy[/MENTION] . Weather was pretty much perfect and as others said the course was not too crowded and people pretty much running at the same pace from the start, so no weaving in and out. I decided to really go for it and aim for 80 minutes and for most of the course was running under 8 minute miles. I had a very poor mile 8 and not a brilliant 9 but pushed hard in the final mile and came in at 80.05, so a PB by 3.29. I am doing the GSR so prehaps a second opportunity to dip under 80 mins. Whilst updating the PB table I also need to amend my marathon time as did Loch Ness in 4.27.50. It was a brilliant course and my favourite of the 10 that I have done. We had a brillinat few days up in Inverness.

Congratulations to [MENTION=18183]big nuts[/MENTION] for smashing his 10 mile record this morning. I couldn't get near the man and he deserved the comprehensive 5 minute victory. As it goes, my times are marvellous in their pattern. I got slower in miles 1-5 and then progressive each mile from 6-10. Mile 10 was my third quickest of the race but I was already in the bin by that point. Overall, I piled into a 1:10:34 which is disappointing but I'm not too concerned. I've been a bit heavy all week so I think the race possibly came a bit quickly. I think the Arena 80c 10k will be at just the right time. I need some pride back!

Well done, Ninj. The Arena 80 10K is on 21st October 10am Sunday morning. Entries open all this week. I've managed to shirk my marshalling duties and have entered. No gain without pain....

At a good value £13 with my newly acquired License or £15 be good to see some more of you there.

Nicely done, Mr B. I really missed Bright10 this year – I even looked on the website last week at a last-minute entry, but decided to be sensible. I'll be back next year – it looks PB-central from nearly everyone I've seen who ran yesterday.

I think I'm unlikely to get in, again. Too many people I know are in already! Without wanting to kick the hornets nest, is now a good time to mention the good for age disparity? 3:31 qualified a friend of mine for Boston next year, how is that reasonable? Is that good for a 27 year old female? I'm not having a go, I've only beaten that once and this is a girl who has a 3:13 in her history which is belting - but 3:31? Is that enough to qualify for Boston when a male has to run sub-3?
