Get yourself some Thorolos running socks, blisters will be a thing of the past.

Blimey - that's a name from the past! I used to work at Salvington Sports, a sports shop at Tesco Durrington, as a Saturday and holiday job many, many years ago.

We stocked Thorlo socks and I got a pair back then to play basketball in - they had different socks for different sports, although they all looked very similar.

Just done a 5k run at 10 mile pace followed by a 1 mile walk. No sign of knee pain yet so hopefully that stretch has worked. The proof, of course, lies in it still not hurting in the morning. If it doesn't then I plan on a gentle 4 miler on Sunday before resting up for the big NSC challenge. Should it go again I may need that sports injury clinic!

No, I've not tried any sort of technical sock at all - I've not needed to. My socks have just been very ordinary sports sock (tube socks?). Thanks for the tip on twinskin - I'll buy a few pairs.

Asics currently doing 3 for 2 on all socks.

After struggling to get my head together since the Brighton marathon I entered the Robin Hood Half last night and now need to get some proper training done.

There's a good article in Runner's World on Half M's but more importantly need to lose some weight. According to some ferreting around on the net should reduce time by 62 seconds for each kilogram of weight.

I'm still using my Thorlos socks that I got when I started running 13/14 years ago. THE best socks I've ever had, and still going strong :thumbsup:

Pretty sure I've got plantar fascilitis again.

The sole of my right foot, towards my heel has been sore for a couple of days now. It feels bruised and hurts when I put any pressure on the foot.

Took me a year to get over mine and even now I only run 3 times a week I can feel it in my heels when I first get up in the morning
Try Ironman gel insoles certainly helped me

Lay off running until the pain has gone otherwise it'll quickly get worse, and become chronic and really takes ages to shift. Probably already posted, but rolling your foot on a ball (start with a tennis ball, then when that hurts less upgrade to a golf ball), or a small water bottle that's been frozen will help. Not used one myself, but I know several people who have managed to shake it off quickly using a Strassburg Sock - basically keeps the plantar stretched while you are asleep. Good luck...hope it's not lasting.

So hove prom parkrun finally got underway today. Nearly 300 participants, all went smoothly as far as I could see, no clashes with irate dog walkers or beach hut owners.
Course did feel a bit like a procession but great views and really nice to have a coffee after in the lawns cafe over looking the sea in the sunshine - I think though hove park will remain the more popular run.
Although a flat course [MENTION=4949]7:18[/MENTION], my wife and I all ran similar times to hove park- so maybe the wind, sharp turns and unfamiliarity with the course countered the effect of the hills. (And cricket/beer/curry last night not the best prep).

Roll on Wednesday for the Phoenix 10k (and post run drink of course.)

A good run on the new course this morning, found it hard work but probably because there weren't any km markers and wasn't too sure what to expect...the start was a bit unorganized and very crowded with slower runners in front of me but still pleased with my time...Hove Park will probably remain my "regular" run but well done to the organizers, I'll be back next week!

Ran the Kings Lynn Park run this morning 9th place and 19.18. First mile was 6.10 but started to slow in the 2nd Mille as my legs were heavy after Thursday's efforts. Still a decent run though. Hope everyone else had good runs

4 very easy paced miles to kick the day off. No reaction yet despite coming back in to the teeth of a strong headwind. Fingers crossed for Wednesday.

On NSC for over two decades...
Ran 15 round Downham this morning, 1hr 47 min 7.08 pace, 3 hard weeks so time for an easy one.

That's a pretty good pace over that distance, I hope to get back to that sort of level before my next half marathon.

Ran a 20:11 parkrun yesterday, so I'm not currently at my peak.
